Five Below — Attraction in Canton Township

Date of Visit: Friday, January 10, 2025 Time of Checkout: 6:00 PM I give reference in case someone from this establishment goes to look at footage.

I had an extremely negative checkout experience at Five Below. The cashier, a heavier-set woman, created a hostile atmosphere that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

I was purchasing five kids' bracelets along with six other toys. The bracelets I chose did not have price tags, but they were similar in quality to $1 bracelets displayed just above, so I brought one as a reference to inquire about the price. Instead of addressing my question politely, the cashier glared at me and snapped, "Those were absolutely not in the same spot—I just restocked there myself."

I calmly clarified that I wasn’t claiming they were the same, only that they were nearby and I was asking for the price. Her attitude made me feel as if I was being accused of trying to deceive her. When I asked her to scan the item, she stated they were $3.25, but when scanned, the bracelets rang up as $1.00.

Rather than apologizing or acknowledging her error, she doubled down, saying, "I stand by what I said; there is no order to those bracelets." She dismissed my reasoning that items of the same quality would likely be the same price.

Her tone and demeanor throughout the interaction were unnecessarily confrontational and unprofessional. I was left feeling frustrated and disrespected. Employees like this should be retrained on how to speak to customers or let go, as it is completely unacceptable to treat anyone this way. This experience does not reflect the level of customer service I expect...

Usually love this place, but there were two customers wandering around with masks fully off (not even trying to hide it). They were greeted and checked out and no one said a thing. Absolutely appalling as a pandemic is peaking, and definitely violates the health department and county mandates. One worker also had her mask under her nose the entire time. This is not a big store, and was not busy, so there's no reason this shouldn't have been caught and enforced. We won't be back until it's safe again. Really sad that they have no concern for...

The store is very cleaned and the customer service is good. The quality of most of their products are congruent to the price... So don't expect an awesome product - (true to it's packaging) from this store, unless it's candy or a toy lol. Nevertheless, I shop here a lot and appreciate the things I purchase from this store - understanding that if I want a better quality product, I need to shop...
