Stayed here for 8 months in a not renovated 2 bed and 2 bath
Two things about this apartment complex: One it's noisy. Incredibly so. Noises from especially upstairs are incredibly audible and require a great deal of white noise to even deal with. I don't know what the heck our upstairs neighbors get up to at 5am and 11pm but without fail I hear them. My roommate has resorted to using headphones to even sleep.
Secondly, maintenance times. They vary but some things take ages to have fixed. I've just grown resigned to the fact we are moving out soon so why even bother putting in requests when it won't be fixed before we move out.
Parking is normally pretty easy over here. Unless I arrive past 6pm I could park right by my building E. They did try to implement some sort of parking reservation thing, but to my knowledge nobody bought into that. As for the apartments themselves we got one that is not renovated, so I can only speak for that. It's clearly in need of TLC. The bathroom very clearly has mold stains I could not get rid of no matter how much vinegar or scrubbing (and a running toilet growing mold maintenance still has not fixed). The stove is mediocre and the dishwasher has a 50% chance on whether it cleans a dish or not. The windows are plastered with icky stuff on the outside so it's hard to see through and the lawns outside inevitably gets covered in dog poop people never picked up (Not the apartments fault but you should know about it)
You can't beat the location of where we are. Gas station and car wash right across the street. Food and boba tea a short 5 minute walk as well. If there is something you need, this area likely has you covered (UPS, car repairs, Target, so many food options, etc). Walmart is around 7 minutes away too driving wise. I don't think I will ever live in a location this good again. I-25 is just down the street as well meaning quick travel via highway (not during rush hour of course)
This complex is mostly families with a few exceptions. The kids can be loud playing but it is nothing obnoxious and is at reasonable hours. Generally I feel rather safe here. The apartment halls are kinda grimy and such but it's nothing unbearable. As for other amenities we had an 8 month lease and sadly this meant we never got to experience the pool. So, I have no idea how that is. The gym is pretty okay. It's small but gets the job done if you only need the basics and the amazon locker is amazing. Feels so much more secure to have your packages delivered in it instead of right in front of your door. Also one major annoyance is no main lights in the bed room (this might be fixed with renovated ones?). I've had to buy so many standing lights and the decision for my long bathroom hall to have no light over the toilet and shower is so strange. Luckily, there was a fix for that but the fact I had to shower in the dark for a while which was not fun.
I can't speak to move out and fees as we haven't done so yet. If something needs to be said I will edit this review as I know apartments can be very greedy with deposits.
Everyone I've met at the office has been kind and friendly. Although the apartments could be better and are a bit overpriced, overall it wasn't a bad experience for my second apartment. They did want to increase our rent quite a bit so we decided to move into a nicer complex since it's close to the same price regardless (and it's a fully renovated room). Also they were very generous and not making a 8 month lease extremely overpriced (other places wanted to charge us $400+ a month for that). Not sure if it will happen again but I still appreciated that
Overall, not bad. Thanks for housing us for 8 months...
Read moreLoud, unsupervised kids use the space as one giant playground. Good luck trying to get some peace and quiet on ANY day here. It was a nice, quiet place when I started, but now there are kids that run around completely unsupervised that SCREAM at the top of their lungs and no one does a thing about it. It got a little quieter after I complained a couple of times, but most of the noise are from 4 Hispanic kids that are yelling so loud that I can hear them over my headphones. Yes, I have to put on headphones on my Roku to listen to my TV.
Let's start in 2011 when I first moved in. The manager was Melissa and she was great. She cared about the complex and the community and was constantly hosting get-togethers. A couple of years later, the owner sold it to Alliance, who turned it into another cookie-cutter property. They slapped some new paint on the leasing office and raised the prices dramatically. I understand prices were going up, but this place does NOT have the amenities to keep up with the competition. Since I got my place with no renovations, I was grandfathered in at a good price. The new management did not like that and has been trying to gouge me for the last few years, even one of the managers told me that. This place also had a murderer living here. The one good thing is the maintenance. They're on time and do things right.
This last rent gouge was going to go up nearly $150/month, so I'm getting out. Their workout area is tiny..with just a few machines. The grounds are always trashy and when I pass some garbage, at least I've been nice enough to pick it up in the past. No more. The owners don't care about you. They send out surveys to ask how they're doing. Well, you're gouging me and you've forced a $25/month trash valet that's not needed - there are PLENTY of trashcans in either direction but they're making you pay. ...
Read moreWarning to anyone even thinking of moving in these apartments!!! Terrible management after changing the change you would think it would get better , but not in this case . The new team seems to have no clue of having the experience at their job. Our community looks worse than ever. They do not trim our hedges or make and maintain what we had before . Copper Terrace is going down hill and soon will be the worst on the block . Recently there has been a tenant that has had the police called to there apartment on 5 different times She had the cops there so much that it is a regular thimg. And Copper Terrrace has not acted at all. This tenant in D103 is a young lady with several problems and has charges of Assulting a 81 yr old lady. This tenant is still here. This is the type of person Copper Terrace is permitting to live in our community . A child was recently run over in the street also. The management has made this place unsafe and a embarrassment . It has only been 5 months this management co has been here and it is already time for them to go. Do not rent from Copper Terrace . It will be one of the worst mistakes you can make. If they let a elderly tenant get hit with a object , do you think they are here to make improvements ? I think not !!!! They just collect rent , and even...
