DO NOT use Verizon at this location or any Verizon in a Staples store! These stores are run by Victra and the managers are by far, the skeeviest bunch of liars I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. Since Verizon is trying to break into the business platform, they were running a "promotion" for business owners to convert their personal accounts to business accounts.
After Milan (who was wonderful to work with) and I worked out my "new plan", Lawrence, the direct supervisor, got on the phone with me. Lawrence we going to "spice" up my plan and add tablets, watches, and provide a lower payment, since, "new promotions" had just gone into affect that day. I made it abundantly clear, not only did I not need or want additional items, I was not going to pay activation fees for things I did not want or ask for. Lawrence made numerous promises that activation fees would be waived. However, I was hit with with $456 worth of set up fees and taxes.
What makes it worse, Lawrence assured me my bill would only be $321/mo. 5 days after I set up this "new service" I receive my new bill. The $321/mo. bill, is now $1245 in total for August (activation & taxes, closing out my personal account, and the prorated first month). $795 for September, and $649 for October. When this issue was addressed with Lawrence, he claims it takes 3 billing cycles for the promotional amounts and credits to kick in. This of course was never discussed because who in their right mind would agree to pay over $2600 in 3 months for phone and internet service. My current personal bill was $240/mo.
These people have zero integrity or moral compass. They have partnered with Staples so they can prey on Staples customers. This experience has completely destroyed my business relationship...
Read moreHands down the laziest and most rude employee I've ever dealt with. I called to see if they had any Dymo labels and the lady said that they did, so I asked if there was any way that they could have any in the front for me and before I finished trying to explain that I need a knee replacement she said no. So I asked if she could please try and again she said "I can't guarantee it". So I asked "You can't just take it to the front and again she repeated the same thing. I drove up and the lady was outside, so she walks in behind me and says "We don't have it in the front" so she tells me where to go from where she was at the register and it is literally 5 aisles straight in front of her which would of taken her 2 mins to grab and be back in the same spot. BTW Staples was empty, so she sent a young man to ask if I had any questions about the Dymo label maker as I was already walking back and I felt like she just thought it was funny when she was just lazy. So I answered him and said "No, I needed it at the front but I guess the lady is just lazy, why would she send you now when I'm already on my way back?" So I made my way back to the front dragging my leg in pain and she asked if I could put my number in and said that there's no such number, so she asked if I wanted to sign up... NO!!! I have never had any problems with Office Max so I'd rather drive a little more but never again with Staples if this is how they treat their customers with disabilities. I would rate this a zero but I can't, that's how disappointed I...
Read moreUPDATE: A regional manager from Staples called me back assuring me they would address the issue, so I am changing my one star rating to a three star.
I was told that the laptop I purchased only had a 90 day warranty because it was a Black Friday deal. I knew from my almost 20 years in the IT industry that 1 year is pretty standard for a new PC/laptop, so I asked him if he is sure. I told him about the industry standard, but he assured me that it was only a 90 day warranty because it was a Black Friday deal. So I almost purchased the extended warranty but still felt it was fishy. He told me if it was a gift that the warranty would expire in January, and which I believe was a sales scare tactic (because 90 days from Black Friday would be the end of February). Then I asked him if I can see the serial number, which he allowed me to take a picture of it. I went to the HP website and sure enough it showed a 1 year warranty. After my daughter opened it (on Black Friday), sure enough (AGAIN) the warranty papers showed a 1 year warranty. Just posting this so you don't get scared into the Square Trade extended warranty and so you won't believe the multiple lies they...
