I miss the old Miller Park. Now we have an 8 million dollar field with a stage and some fancy contoured concrete. The only people there are the homeless. The venue is under utilized. And don't even try going across the street to Waterpark pavilion. It's now privately owned, and unless you are eating lunch there, security will hassle you just for sitting down and catching some shade. It used to have a beautiful fountain, then they ripped that out so they can fit in bigger weddings. It has a pricey and exclusive vibe to it, and sadly echoes the whole gentrification push in this city. Yes, it's good to have nice things, but at what cost. I hope our next mayor understands that catering to the tourist crowd usually leaves life long residents out in the cold....
