Finally heard back from Mike Shuford at the Chattanooga Convention Center despite their having caused us financial harm during our event, they refuse to make any concessions on our bill (refunding an unused room that we could not get to thanks to their lack of planning and diligence).

We have spoken with several other event organizers in Chattanooga and ALL of them are looking to have an alternate space to host events in Chattanooga thanks to the TERRIBLE service at the Chattanooga Convention Center. This is what you can expect service wise from the convention center: No returned calls from event coordinators leading up to your event. Emails take 48-72 hours to get responses at a minimum Catering takes 48-72 hours to respond if they do at all. Event coordinators are not helpful AT ALL before or during your events except to look for additional billing items. If you run a weekend or evening event make sure you are aware of the door situation as your attendees and guests may be locked out of the facility with no notice. Pay close attention to your billing because not only will it be wrong, but it could also have THOUSANDS of dollars in fees for services that you did not order or need. Finally, don’t expect ANYONE in administration or management to be an advocate for your success. They...

The Chattanooga Convention Center used to be a decent place to host events — not perfect, but reliable. Unfortunately, the new management is running it straight into the ground. The new manager clearly has no idea what he's doing, and worse, he doesn’t seem to care. Morale among the staff is clearly at an all-time low; everyone I spoke to seemed frustrated, overworked, and completely disillusioned. You can tell they hate the changes as much as the long-time clients do.

If you’ve rented space here in the past, be prepared for a rude awakening. The systems and policies that made things run smoothly for years are being upended for no apparent reason, and the results are chaos and confusion. It’s like they’re actively trying to drive away the loyal people who’ve kept this place afloat.

If this is the direction the Chattanooga Convention Center wants to go, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of long-standing partnerships and repeat business disappear fast. Find somewhere else — somewhere that actually values its staff, its clients, and...

The Convention Center has served the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council for multiple events over the past few years including our Awards and Installation Banquet and the Annual Armed forces Day Celebration luncheon. This year the lunch was about 500 civic, business and military leaders in a salute to our Armed Forces. The entire convention center staff has done a superb job in helping us organize, set-up, and conduct the celebration. The kitchen and wait staff were superb. After the introductions when the chairman said "lunch is now served" it was like swarm of bees descending and the room was served with a delicious hot meal in only minutes. The waiters were extremely attentive throughout the event. They replenished glasses of water and tea and served coffee and then efficiently cleared the tables before the guest speaker. i would highly recommend the use of the CCC for...

I really want to like the Chattanooga Convention Center. After all, it is practically the only game in town for large events. But for the event holders, it is expensive which makes the event ticket expensive. The parking garage is a very tight squeeze to enter and exit if you have a larger vehicle and the nearby surface parking is controlled by a vendor. This weekend the machine to pay at the surface parking next to their building was having issues, which made the line back up. No number to call for help and the Convention Center is hands off as they don’t own it. So to start, the experience is not good. At the event I attended, the technology for digital display was subpar and kept going out. Overall, it is not a knock your socks off convention center.

Really enjoyed the venue. The convention center was spacious, clean and easy to get around. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of stalls to accommodate a break rush. Very convenient to hotel and parking. The catering was above average, but was expecting a bit more from the capstone dinner (filet mignon or Salmon offered) especially at the price point compared to the other meals. I would skip buying the breakfast as it just wasn’t worth the money or calories (grab something at the hotel). By far and away one of the nicest totally packages though in a convention center I’ve experienced.
