Exploring Around Atlanta: Chattanooga's Best Eats & Stays

First time staying here. The room we had was in desperate need of repairs. Floor boards were all beat up and looked nasty. The bathroom was all around half remodeled it seemed. Tons of unpainted areas, the shower was horrendous looking. I grabbed a towel in the middle of the night off a two metal pole hanger - lifting up gently as to not wake my wife and then the entire assembly feel apart into several pieces with the metal rods drropping, bouncing up and into the shower (cheap shower curtain was pulled back), the rod bounced around like a bouncy ball. I’m surprised I didn’t wake up the entire hotel. We laughed it off but seriously our room on floor 3 needs asap help! The elevators barely worked - the doors opened and closed so slowly it was creepy. When we decided to leave at 2am because our A/C kept kicking the compressor off only circulating room temp air, the elevator doors stuck half way open and stayed like that on the main level! We just turned side ways and left. The staff was nice and I did love that they were ā€œin characterā€. Maybe one day we will be back - but I just feel like that’s probably not going to happen. The parking and the roads around this area also need asap help! Again - 10 out of 10 for the staff!

When staying in Chattanooga, I definitely recommend staying at the Read House. The historic ambiance of the hotel is incredible. As a writer, I couldn’t help appreciate the many nooks around the hotel and even spent most of my first day writing in the library. The rooms are clean and the bar is often bustling. I was also glad to have an accessible gym, though I wish I could have figured out how to keep the treadmill from squealing. I didn’t have the opportunity to use the pool but perhaps next time. There’s also shopping and restaurants within walking distance. I’ll be back!

The Read House is an extraordinary hotel. I stayed on the Historic Tower side and our room was very luxurious! Super fancy bathroom and very comfortable beds. The valet service was top notch! I’ve dealt with many valet companies and this one was highly professional. Jonathan was very helpful, as he checked our car in and brought the luggage to our room. He got us ice and bottled water which was super kind of him. Every other service was top notch as well. The front desk staff was best of the best; super kind and welcoming upon arrival! The only thing, and truly the only thing, I’d wish was different was the location. It’s a far walk to the river, but there’s still plenty of restaurants within a short walk. Needless to say, this hotel is one of my favorites. I WILL be staying here...

We were in the area for a sports tournament. So happy we decided to stay in Chattanooga's historic Read Hotel. We loved the "Great Gatsby" vibe and historic preservation of the hotel with a modern flair. We stayed on historic tower side in a premier room and loved it. Beds, room and bath were luxurious and comfortable. We ate in both the Bridgeman's Chophouse and Bar & Billiards Room. Both were perfect for the occasions. Overall service was impeccable. Perfect staff selection for a luxurious hotel. At night there were street fairs with music and food trucks...
