I love history! The old Governors mansion, here in Cheyenne, is one of my favorite kind of museums, free!
I was allow about an hour or so to go through it, depending on how much time you want to spend, but the different areas of the house are dated in different eras from when is started in the early 1900s, through when it was decommissioned about a decade or two ago in the early 2000s.
The staff are friendly, and willing to answer any questions you have.

Read moreWe just got back from this year’s “Tinsel Through Time”. OUTSTANDING! Have been going through this treasure chest every year, but this year the staff & volunteers have out done themselves. Very classy. By picking “Old West” as a theme the staff has enabled themselves to keep it simple, and not so over the top. They have gathered wonderful artifacts & photos that gives the displays a fresh and more realistic western appeal. PLEASE, make this a must on your holiday adventures. It will become a tradition.

Some of the rooms were very beautiful and it was interesting learning about how people used to live and what products and technology were in use. My favorite rooms were the sun room on the third floor and the fallout shelter in the basement! Definitely a must visit for all the history...
