I love history! The old Governors mansion, here in Cheyenne, is one of my favorite kind of museums, free!

I was allow about an hour or so to go through it, depending on how much time you want to spend, but the different areas of the house are dated in different eras from when is started in the early 1900s, through when it was decommissioned about a decade or two ago in the early 2000s.

The staff are friendly, and willing to answer any questions you have.

Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are a history buff like my wife and I, and it is a great opportunity if you have kids, to show them how things have changed throughout the...

We just got back from this year’s “Tinsel Through Time”. OUTSTANDING! Have been going through this treasure chest every year, but this year the staff & volunteers have out done themselves. Very classy. By picking “Old West” as a theme the staff has enabled themselves to keep it simple, and not so over the top. They have gathered wonderful artifacts & photos that gives the displays a fresh and more realistic western appeal. PLEASE, make this a must on your holiday adventures. It will become a tradition.

Thanks to the incredible staff & volunteers! You make Cheyenne & Wyoming a...

Very fun experience, like walking back in time and learning the history of this mansion. Many items from the 70’s and before. Some of the rooms were very beautiful and it was interesting learning about how people used to live and what products and technology were in use. My favorite rooms were the sun room on the third floor and the fallout shelter in the basement! Definitely a must visit for all the history...

Great history and beautiful home. After the Capitol tour, it’s neat to learn and see the history of the home that many of the governors lived in. Home has been renovated recently and has different time periods displayed in different rooms. Several area display unique architectural features that are surprising for the period.

Perhaps the most interesting & eclectic governor's mansion in the USA. Different rooms evoct the furniture, style & memories of different eras from the the early 1900s to the 70s/80s when the last first family moved out. A fascinating series of time capsules. Plus a warm Wyoming welcome & it's free! Thank you WY!.
