This is a Hotbed of Legal , Political , Financial , Social and Newsworthy Sources !
I went down to address a legal issue . Upon arrival while checking in , I was told I wasn't even on the Docket . Arousing suspicion :
1》 Is this a joke (it's not April 1st)
2》 Is this a set-up (not a big fan of conspiracy's)
3》 Is this going to end up with , me being incarcerated (I'm 64 years young and I've had enough " walk - abouts " in the pokey)
4》 Is this going to mean I'm getting off (that never happens to me - I got busted trying to snatch a stick of gum off the register of the corner gas station at 8-years old) H _ _ l No
Okay , I was told to go downstairs and check the files . After an uncomfortable (I needed to relieve myself and the number of Clients vs. City Employees was Disproportionate) say 40-minutes .
Told my recent Moving Violation(s) were Dismissed . What ! Not so fast , I still have several thousand dollars worth of Parking Fines . The cause and effect of Drug Addiction and not being Empathetic to any Rules or Regulations (Laws) .
Now , I was directed to Room # 107 accross the street (City Hall) . And take the issue , with the ladies collecting fines and setting payment plans . A quick side note . Since the aforementioned moving violation(s) were accrued , I'd been reducing my lien substantially .
All the ladies (3) I have been dealing with had been extremely helpfull and very kind . Now , all we did was tally the numbers and sorted out a new timeline on my payment schedule .
In reflection , it was a great day at the Daly Center ! I always enjoy visiting the Heart Of The City . Even though the reason having such an incredible jaundiced overtone (based on fear & past resentments) .
Hey everyone don't ever forget , life is such a Beach . Clean and Sober , Spiritually Fullfilled and Living a Life of Service !
Amen , Brothers &...
Read moreI can't really even grasp the words right so bear with me. I went to the Daley Center to get an Emergency Order against my husband for taking my kids without my consent and as the hours went on I was told I filled out the wrong forms.
I really only had that day to do anything and so I just went for it and filed something bigger, a divorce. I wouldn't have made it out of there though had it not have been for Brianna, Sherri and Paul. I knew it was 4 (they closed at 4:30) but I really didn't want my ex to be the one to get the summons for a divorce to me before I could get it to him. The way these 3 took care of me was incredible. They jumped in quick and used what they knew and helped me along the way.
I realize now why people get a lawyer or go ask for help but I only had 30 minutes and I just prayed the staff could help me get to the end point. Sure enough these 3 did and without complaint. I have cried twice now just thinking about how they could have just said no were not lawyers and went home.
They were very professional and I was able to make it out there in tears of joy knowing I got it done. I did the divorce and it wouldn't have been possible without them. Thank you Brianna, Sherri and Paul I'll never...
Read moreAs someone who appreciates the vibrant diversity of Chicago, I’ve always admired how this establishment goes out of its way to acknowledge the many cultures that have shaped the city’s history. All year round, I see flags, celebrations, and acknowledgments for various communities and rightfully so.
However, it was disheartening to discover that on Haitian Flag Day, May 18th, there’s NEVER no recognition at all. No flag, no mention nothing. This is especially disappointing given the historical fact that a Haitian man, Jean Baptiste Point du Sable, is credited as the founder of Chicago. His legacy deserves more than silence.
For a place that prides itself on honoring multicultural contributions, the absence of the Haitian flag on such a meaningful day feels like a glaring oversight. I hope this changes in the future, not just for the sake of inclusivity, but to honor the truth of Chicago’s origins.
Representation matters. Let’s make sure we’re not selectively...
