I recently visited Hapik Yonkers with my godson, and while the facility itself is impressive in concept, I left with serious concerns about safety and staff attentiveness. The experience left me in disbelief—not because of the activities offered, but because of the lack of proper supervision and accountability from the staff.
As a paying guardian, I expect a certain standard of safety, especially in a facility centered around physical, high-risk activities for children. I was shocked to learn that guardians are expected to operate equipment—specifically, cranking the mechanism that lifts children on the slide. At any point, the child can let go and slide down, and yet it is not a trained staff member handling this, but us—parents and family members. I find this unacceptable. I am not employed or trained by Hapik, and I should not be tasked with managing equipment that directly impacts the safety of a child.
What was even more alarming was witnessing an autistic child (whose diagnosis was confirmed by his family) climb to the top of an obstacle, only to find himself without assistance when it was time to jump. Although a staff member eventually came over, their presence was intermittent at best. The child ended up hurting himself on the way down, and the situation could have been far worse. Why was there no immediate supervision? Why is there no dedicated staff consistently monitoring each activity zone?
In contrast, I’ve visited similar facilities where staff are engaged, present, and proactive. At those locations, I never once felt that the safety of my child or others depended on the attentiveness of family members. Unfortunately, the staff at Hapik Yonkers seemed disengaged, disinterested, and unmotivated. If the team cannot prioritize the safety of children participating in these physically demanding activities, then perhaps stronger hiring practices, training, and oversight are urgently needed.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because while Hapik has the potential to be a fantastic recreational option for families, its current practices in Yonkers fall short of the standard any parent or guardian...

I booked my daughter’s birthday party at Hapik Yonkers expecting an easy, well-organized event, but it turned into a highly stressful ordeal. The venue was overcrowded, compromising both safety and comfort, especially for smaller children. Upon arrival, no staff attended to us; the front desk instructed me to wait for table setup, but they never followed up, being too overwhelmed with the long line. Despite arriving 40 minutes early, we received no assistance and had to set up the table ourselves.
There was no instruction for the climbing activities—no announcements were made, leaving parents to assist their own kids. When it was time for food, no staff alerted the children or helped organize anything. Throughout the event, we had NO party host, forcing me to manage the entire party on my own.
To make matters worse, individuals not in our group occupied our table and left a huge spill of ice cream underneath it. After requesting assistance multiple times, it took 30 minutes before anyone addressed the mess. At the end, after I had managed everything myself, a staff member finally apologized for lack of a party host, citing that they were just “too backed up.”
I was unaware that a gift card was supposed to be provided at the end of the party; another parent informed me that this was customary, there were no exit instructions given. I had to call several times afterward before anyone answered, and when I expressed our dissatisfaction, the worker was completely dismissive and uncaring, merely saying, “sorry about that.”
The whole experience was so exhausting. I was considering hosting my son’s birthday here, but after this, never again. This was absolutely not what I paid for, and Hapik should be ashamed of charging families for such a neglectful, poorly managed experience. I can’t imagine how I would have managed if we had a...
Read moreUpdate 9/1/2023: We went back recently and I was happy to see that they were very attentive, patient, and kind to all the children. There were two large summer camp groups right before us and they handled it very well. The kids were able to go on all areas to their hearts content. We went in the afternoon so I can't speak to if they limit areas right before closing. Looking forward to bringing them back again.
We went when they first opened and continued to go because my three children loved it. However stopped going bc of an incident. Took off two stars because the staff helping seemed to be inconsistent. Depending on who is there, they can be very kind and attentive to help with the areas that need assistance: the obstacle course above and the slide. Other times, I have had staff seem annoyed if the kids want to go in the assisted areas more than once and they’ve had to wait a bit to be helped. One evening we went in during the last hour and 30 minutes into our time, they told us and another family who was there that we could not use the assisted areas anymore. Two of my children had only gone on the obstacle course once. And one of them didn’t get to go. They were more concern with closing and cleaning up. Wish we were at least forewarned. I was upset because we paid for the full hour and my children were disappointed. We haven’t been back since. So maybe don’t go during the last hour. As a previous review mentioned, I did notice some inappropriate music being played as well. We will try it again and see if any improvements have been made. This place has potential to be a 5 star if the staff is more consistent from person to person. It’s so fun and challenging for the kids especially as weather gets colder, they can have some place to get some exercise. Would love to join membership now that they have it, but hesitant. Hoping that staff has been trained better. I will update my review once we’ve...
