Green Opal Salon - Cleveland — Attraction in Cleveland

I have never been in an establishment as rude as Opal Green Salon. I went to them based on the other reviews only to be leaving the salon in almost an entire panic attack. I went to get my hair highlighted, trusting the professionals there. Only to have the front part of my hair not match my skin tone nor what I wanted. I rightfully so after asked my hair colorist to please fix it. Only to be greeted by the owner, saying that no one will fix it for me today because they don’t have time. Mind you it was two hours from closing time. When I complained that this is not customer service and that I’m leaving here tonight feeling like a clown, the owner smirked at me. And when I disputed paying the full price, I was told that my hair colorist did a great, fine job regardless of whether I like it or not. So I left having paid the whole price and internally hyperventilating from the humiliation and audacity. And to top it all off, the receptionist went off on me about how I was wasting the owners time. Who is trying to explain to me that I can come back. Only, I am literally traveling tonight. I do not recommend anyone going here. If they mess up your hair and they don’t care to waste more of their precious time on your hair; well expect to pay full price and be humiliated and regarded as only a walking wallet. The place lacks morale, which is not surprising with such a horrible person as the owner.

Went to this salon twice. First time had to wait for 20 min, had my haircut and blow out but not all the way through. Decided not to post anything. Mistake. Second time barely managed to put my toddler and newborn in the car (babysitter got sick the day before of course) only to have my Tesla bring me to the old location when I remembered seeing on instagram that they got a new location, found it, drove over to Ohio city, couldn’t find parking, finally parked, ran in with 2 kiddos only to be offered a haircut with a junior stylist…. Yes I was 17 min late and not within the 15 minute window, but can’t you see the newborn in a car seat? I asked for my hair to be cut by Gaby and not dried. Was told no. Also saying “because of the time restrictions” 7 times defeats the purpose of reframing it from “you’re late”. Anyhow, feel completely disrespected. Never coming back. Will probably charge me for it too. Thumbs down, not a new mother friendly place.

It took me a few weeks to write this review bc I'm not really a review writing person but holy s* Jenny Barto gave me the best haircut of my adult life. I sought her out because the two people I know who have Thee Best hair go to her (one of them the coolest person I have ever met and the other the most beautiful man I have ever seen) but my expectations weren't suuuuuper high because I moved to CLE 4 years ago and have had a hell of a time replacing the woman who cut my hair for 12 years back home. And then here came Jenny descending like an angel from heaven, an actual personal guardian angel who looked at my hair and actually saw it. Three weeks later it's looking gorgeously lived-in, my layers cascading over my shoulders like effortless sparkling waterfalls, and my bangs are ON. POINT. I feel young and beautiful again.
