We booked a stay here in July '24. We drove in from out of state. We usually stay at a hotel across the street but decided to try something different. The pictures online were very convincing of how great the remodeling was. We checked in late at night and were placed in room 202. We were exhausted from our drive and hungry so we quickly placed our luggage in the room. The room reeked of cigarette smoke! When we left we told the front desk that the room was not going to work because of the smell and she was very nice and helpful. She told us that she would relocate us to a different room when we returned. During dinner we canceled our remaining stay and booked with the hotel across the street. Thank goodness we did that. When we were returned she switched us to room 102. At this point we were so exhausted that we didn't fully inspect the room. We did notice that we were right by the pool and the hvac unit and it was very noising but we didn't care at that point. At 3am I'm woken up by my 2 children because they were spooked by a figure in the room of a tall man and a little boy in a baseball cap. I assured them that they were safe and it was a bad dream. I highly doubt they both had the same nightmare. I was too exhausted to even care about a ghost so I slept with my kids so we could all hopefully get some rest. Later that night I was woken up by the bed that kept shaking and I too saw the man figure. At that point, I had had enough and yelled at it to let me sleep! I guess that ghost knew to not mess with a tired momma because we were able to get some sleep after that. My husband at that point heard me yelling at it and was freaked out....lol Who wouldn't be! In the morning we went down for breakfast. Now that was a whole other experience! There wasn't any food ready. Guest were standing around waiting on the one poor lady trying to get the food out. After waiting around for like 20 minutes she walks out and pours out scrambled eggs out of a clear bag that looked like the trash bags from an office trash can. They were also disgusting. They didn't have much else to offer. We decided we needed to have breakfast somewhere else. We packed up and checked out! I know this was a little over a year ago but still felt I needed to share. Hopefully things have improved. Needless to say we wouldn't stay there again much less...
Read moreDon’t stay in room 228! This was the absolute worst stay we have had at a la Quinta. We booked with you guys over another hotel in the area, just to be given a room that reeked of smoke, smoke that you guys were aware of it. Needless to be said, but it was suppose to be non-smoking. We had our 3 kids with us, one who is an infant and after a long day of hiking expected to come back and if not relax, at least breath in our room. Walking in was an immediate punch in the face of heavy smoke. My kids were coughing, i knew not only would our clothes reek of smoke throughout this vacation, but my box braids which were $200 to get done, would need to be taken out. We went down stairs immediately to talk to Jerry the lady at the front desk, along with maintenance who both were aware of this ongoing problem in room 228. “They’ve tried everything, but can’t get the smell out”, “ we know it smells awful”. I went down 3 times to talk to Jerry, because she couldn’t bother to answer the phone when we called. We got to the hotel at 1140pm, thinking no problem, we’re having fun on our vacation and were unaware that we needed to make sure our hotel room was breathable before it was too late. Unlucky for us it was too late, we couldn’t find anywhere else to go, along with Jerry, who I requested to find us another room, but of course couldn’t. You guys were booked and everywhere else. Of course. The only other option would have been to sleep in our suv with our 3 children. We spend 2 hrs calling hotels that were now all booked. Had the worst sleep of my life and paid $200 for it. But we got a whole $40 dollars off of our stay we should be grateful, to breath in smoke fumes all night with our 3 children. We all woke up early after only a few hrs of sleep with headaches, left early smelling like smoke, with hair that I took down 2 days later, because I couldn’t stand the smell. Of course it was Sunday so there was no manager to talk to. I had to spend another day of my vacation, calling to speak to a manager (Jennifer) who told me $40 bucks is all she could do also, but told me Bruce would call me, and of course he never did. Extremely disappointed and will be filling an official complaint, to the health department and The Better...
Read moreMakeing the reservation they same day was easy, checking in was fine. It was after we were in the room that everything started. After confirming time and time again the they were smoke free my whole floor smelled like weed (my husband is deadly allergic to in tight areas) so we called the front desk and they said they would spay something. We got dressed to go down to the pool to get away from it. And it was CLOSED something we could have been told while we were making the reservation because the pool was the main reason for picking the hotel and because the person who put in our reservation was a manager. So we just left and went to lunch because we were told it would be open in a few hours. We get back and the smell is still there but not nearly as strong so we went to the room soaked in the tub for a bit before dinner. After dinner the pool was finally open so we changed again and headed down. At first the pool looked nice. We were told it was heated and it was a ice bucket. And the jacuzzi was warm but no where close to how hot one should be. (I've been in heated pools wormer then the jacuzzi.) To top that off there was so much moisture in the air that condensation was dripping from the ceiling. So we went back to the room. Kept having to call because of the smell and the front desk guy just got annoyed while knowing the reason was for health. So the next day the kids came by to take them swimming and the pool was so cold every adult and kid was crammed into the jacuzzi. We went to bed and the next day the weed was so bad it caused my husband to have 2 major seizures and one causing a bad concussion and him being in the hospital for 3 days. When it was brought to a managers attention today she said there was nothing that could really be done because we already were in a upgraded room that SHE offered. We were originally going to pay for the nicer one as it was she just was not sure if it would be ok because it was being worked on. So we got the smaller room and she upgraded it.
And working to resolve this issue? We were told we would be getting a call back that day and nothing. This is not the way to run a business. My husband ended up in the hospital for 3 DAYS! And you act as if it...
