If you have a large party, I recommend going somewhere else, as this place does not do their best to accommodate. Tonight, we had a party of 13. I called as early as 3:30pm to try to make reservations for 7:30pm. I was told they do not accept reservations and that I should continuously check the online waitlist to try to get on the list prior to the time we wanted to dine in. I did just that and continuously called to check if there was a wait for a party that large. I was told time after time that there was no wait and to keep calling up to a half an hour before we came in. I did everything in my power to try and plan an appropriate dinner time. Upon arrival we were told they were full and we ended up waiting 45 minutes for a spot that would accommodate our large party. Immediately, as we were being sat (about 8:10 pm) we were told that last call for the all you could eat would be in 20 min. TWENTY minutes for a large party to decide and order. Naturally, I requested to speak to the manager. I completely understand a no reservation policy for parties up to 6 even 8 people. However, larger parties of more than 10 people require a level of planning on the staff’s end. How can they say there’s no wait when I call? Yet at the same time, tell me there’s no room for 13? Doesn’t make sense. It’s really a huge disappointment when we are spending close to $500. We probably would have spent more if we weren’t in a rush to beat last call. I will say that the food has always been great and the servers are always so sweet. The manager tonight was dismissive and completely acted like he didn’t give a flying F about our concerns, being rushed, the wait time or even that I called about 10 times to plan our visit. He completely disregarded the fact that I had tried my hardest to plan a proper arrival time that wouldn’t make us feel rushed. Honestly don’t know if I’ll go here again after this experience. Really...
Read more6/19/2024 @ 3PM. I know this place to be top notch - food is always stellar. The reason they are Idaho's Best is obvious. Today's experience started great. We sat at the sushi bar and both ordered AYCE. Sean, our server, was pleasant and swiftly got our appetizers. The first round was really great. The Salmon and Yellow Tail Nigiri were nice and thick and tasted uber fresh. The sushi was pro. The reason the service got only 2 stars was that Sean - nor any one else for that matter - ever bussed our dirty dishes. Sean was back to take orders for more food but the old stuff just piled up. I picked up the pile we had made of first course app plates and main course dishes to my left in hopes that someone would grab them and secondly to get them out of my way. Some time passed and a couple came in and sat at the bar to my left - directly next to our pile of dirty dishes. My attention was on our next round and our conversation - not to my left but rather to my right. The woman was visibly perturbed and I could only feel moved to pull the dishes closer to me and offer an excuse for Sean as that he hopefully would be back to get them. Another round finished and still the dishes from our original round sat. I waved over the girl at the desk and asked her for some more napkins and to clear the dishes. She pleasantly helped us out. The very last roll and Yellowtail Nigiri were sub par. Shrimp tempura was old tasting and not crisp...the Yellowtail Nigiri was 50% the size of the first round and tasted off. Very disappointing. As we settled up the bill and Sean was at the table/counter -he AGAIN left all our dirty dishes - making it difficult to fill out the credit card signature section. He still got a 15% gratuity but man - never again. This won't be the last time we come in... but it was not an Idaho's Best Sushi...
