My name is Sherry. I have a story I would like to share. It's about life and how quickly it can change in a moment. My Son was involved in a catastrophic motorcycle accident by a person who was on drugs by a car that didn't belong to him. My Son paid a price that has forever changed his life. It changed ours as well. No one is ever financially prepared for an accident of this magnitude. Reaching out for help from a system that is put in to place to help turned us away because of the fact he lives with us. So why am I telling you this? It's because I have lost faith in the human kindness of a Stranger. It took everything in me to walk into GUVEN'S JEWELRY STORE yesterday. I brought the last thing I own to sell, which is my engagement ring. I had the "honor " to speak to Chris, who owns the Store with his Father. He listened quietly too what brought me through the doors. His compassion was something I can't put into words. Chris looked at my ring and agreed it was beautiful. He said I could get so much more selling it privately and was willing to give me more than he normally would. Chris said "Sherry give me a few days to see what I can do. I am going to make some calls. I was hiding behind my sunglasses to hide my eyes from crying. Chris than OPENED UP HIS WALLET and kindly without making me feel "less than " and slid some money in my direction. I gave it back saying he had been kind enough to just listen to my story. He again INSISTED I take it. Since my son's accident I haven't had anyone do anything for us. Nothing. As a Mother we aren't emotionally prepared to see our Children broken. Chris for the third time just simply said "please take it ". Now I didn't have my readers on me so I had no idea what he actually gave me. I very humbly left the store. I couldn't believe a stranger could be so kind. Since my son's accident all I have heard is the word NO. So basically I have just given up on a miracle. I stopped by Publix to grab a few things we needed. While in line a young woman was shopping with two young children. She was in the process of putting a few things back. That's when I saw the gift from Chris. I was able to help her because Chris HELPED ME. I let her know I was paying it forward. After spending many hours looking for a good price for a particular Citizen Watch, I came upon Guven’s Fine Jewelry and they had the watch in stock and at a reasonable price. I did a little research to find out about this family owned business and it seemed like a reasonable risk to order the watch on-line from them.

The day after my order I received a phone call from Chris Guven indicating that my credit card number did not go through and could I verify it. It turns out that I must have made a typographical error when I first entered the number and Chris was able to verify that it did indeed go through as we were on the phone. He called me back later that day to indicate that it had been shipped and I would receive it in the next few business days. That was on a Friday and I received the watch the following Wednesday in CA.

It was packed like fine China and arrived in perfect working and cosmetic condition.

Several days after receiving the watch, I just happened to check a popular web based business and found out that they had reduced the price of this item very significantly. I sent an email to Chris to see if they would do price matching and indeed he was willing to do so in spite of taking a loss on the item.
