Let me start by identifying the main things a customer does not need to hear after waiting 8 weeks for expensive custom furniture and finding out the day before delivery and full payment that it won't be coming after all: (1) people make mistakes, (2) quality means things take awhile, (3) we already expedited the order at no cost. We went to Ethan Allen after a previous pleasant experience and fully understood the custom nature of what they do. We ordered a custom bed frame this time, waited our 8 weeks, paid the amount in full, and got a delivery date. Then, the day before delivery, we got a call that something was wrong with the bed frame and it will need to be rebuilt. This was disappointing news to say the least after waiting so long. I called the store the next day for an update and they told me the points I made in the beginning of the review and that they would "talk to the manager to see what can be done" but reminded me again they were expediting the order for free (I didn't ask for it but it should be expected given Ethan Allen screwed up the build). I am now awaiting a new timeframe (approx another month), have paid in full but not received a discount credit or refund, and have zero confidence Ethan Allen cares about the non-commercial customers since we only do one or two pieces of furniture at a time. The odds I will ever go back are slim to none. I do not recommend this place for anyone because they do not seem to care at all that I have waited so long for my custom bed frame. I will edit this review up or down based on Ethan Allens resolution of their mess up but caution individual consumers away from here at this point in time.
Update 20june, they called me and apologized for the whole thing and asked what they could do to make it better. We are getting the whole amount back until we have a confirmed delivery date, at which point it will be at a discount. I appreciate them taking the time to work this out and hope it does not take another 6 weeks to get my bed frame. Will update review at the end of the process based on...

I went in for a āfirst lookā at whatās āout thereā and she quickly put together a layout that I liked. I went home and realized, while I liked it, it wasnāt ME or the image of what I had in my mind.
While she was a little sarcastic about referring to my āpictureā for inspiration... she was very helpful and willing to give of her time. Iām impressed that the designers seem to all have been there for many years. I love that they give their opinion... even if it wouldnāt be yours. They try hard.
MAJOR thing to Note
We live IN THE BORDERING county to Gwinnett so not far comparatively speaking to the store. ONE COUNTY over and they deliver ONE time a Month!!! A MONTH!!!!!
That will be game changing for us when we buy again. Thatās ridiculous and INSANE when you spend this much money. We had to cancel part of our vacation to be home in October or we would have to wait until November. š³ No one at corporate seemed to care until we cancelled vacation and THEN they offered to come the following week. It was too late. I honestly am blown away that they come ONCE a month. Disrespectful in my opinion. Beate was concerned and did try to help. Itās like ...weāre coming this time... like it or not.
Furniture is good quality. It turned out just like I wanted even though I felt pressured a bit to go a different direction. Iām glad we have it and I may use them again depending on if they make changes.

I am sure all the other design experts are equally great, but Marion took the time to get to know me and what designs and pieces of furniture would suit me best. Growing up in the South and the low country, Marion quickly connected with my passions for the ocean, surfing, and being outdoors.
I was renting when I met Marion, and she helped me with items I could use when I finally found a place to call home. I liked the build quality of Ethan Allen furniture and found myself roaming the store on days off to see what was in stock. Marion gave me sound advice and encouraged me to wait until I found a place to call home. When that day came, she made herself available, brought samples to the new place, and took measurements to create a virtual review that I could see before purchasing.
Marion's design was excellent . She created a new look with the existing furniture, made it work around paintings and Iād carried all these years, and designed a couple of places for surfboards and collector's items to hang on the wall. She listened and took notes to find what suited me best. She even found a pillow design to accompany a handmade three-by-four-foot picture my brother gave to me last year.
