I live in Florida and I buy my groceries at Walmart. Recently, I went to visit my daughter and her family in Connecticut and stopped at Walmart to buy groceries. I realize prices on groceries are different regionally, but I was shocked to see, the Walmart whole milk that I normally pay $2.39 in florida, was almost $5 in Connecticut. There were other Walmart branded products that were also almost double what I pay in Florida. Now I also realize grocery stores have a tendency to take advantage of the customers when there is no other store around. The problem was, there was another store across the street, that was a high-end store so I guess they're basing their prices on that competition. If that's the way Walmart Works in Connecticut, I would never shop there again. I've always considered Walmart a low price leader! One thing I'm disappointed with Walmart is, they sell their own brand of Truvia with a price point less than the name brand. The problem is, each packet has less Truvia inside. So you're actually paying more for the store brand. They also do that with cereal sometimes. For years it was always cheaper to buy the family size or jumbo size box. Now, because everyone is brainwashed into just grabbing that expecting it to be cheaper, Walmart and a lot of other grocery stores are taking advantage of their customers by charging more per pound / ounce then the smaller packages. As a word of advice from a Walmart Plus customer, don't use this service unless you're desperate! Their produce is awful and it seems that when you get the food delivered, they pick the worst of the worst. I purchased small green fed roast. I cooked this roast to make pot roast, for over 4 hours and it never broke apart. I Now find that Walmart Meats, are usually way overpriced, but now the quality...
Read moreI would say there is nothing consistent about Walmart, but actually it can be counted on to always be a reliably disappointing experience, so that's something. Staff are pros at avoiding helping customers in any way, and that's when you can even find any staff. Most times I'm there, huge lines snake back thru entire aisles but there's NEVER been more than two to three cashier lanes open so the self checkout is swamped constantly. Why pay another employee poverty wages when you can force your customers to be unpaid cashiers and bag boys?
I've been trying to make myself completely stop patronizing this unethical corporation for a while now, but it's hard to resist the much lower prices of certain things. But I realize now that the inconvenience alone makes it not worth saving a buck.
Let me just clarify, I said the employees are unhelpful and unmotivated, but the blame for that falls squarely on Walmart's shoulders, not the staff. Most folks are well aware of its egregious treatment of their employees and policies of keeping them underpaid as well as limiting hours just enough to ensure the majority remain permanently ineligible for any kind of benefits they ostensibly offer. They also make it so that many employees qualify for state aid, most notably food stamps. I recently heard or read that Walmart's workforce is the single largest utilizer of the food stamp program in the country, while at the same time being the number one place those food stamp benefits are spent. I'm not 100% sure of the veracity of this statistic but if it isn't THE largest, then it's definitely ONE of...
Read moreI’m a Walmart plus customer. I waited for hours to have my medication filled and then when they did they spelled my name wrong (I don’t know how they got my insurance to cover it) and then it took a long time on the phone to have this fixed so that it could be delivered through my Walmart plus account. I finally was able to put in an order to have my medication delivered in 3 hrs or less. It was due by 7:30p but at 7:30p I recieved a text that it was delayed so I patiently waited until 9p. I had to get up for a flight across the country at 2a that night. I called Walmart to check the status at 9p and was told they use a 3rd party delivery service like DoorDash and that nobody decided to pick up my order. I said then I will pick it up myself and was told I can’t because the pharmacy was closed. I really needed this medication and had to go to urgent care to get my meds on my first day of vacation after getting 4hrs of sleep and flying across the country. I cannot believe that I was not notified at some point before the pharmacy was closed that I needed to pick up my medication. I am disgusted by this. It’s a medication that I truly needed. It is a big problem when people’s health is put at risk due to Walmart’s poor...
