I am an international student, don't came here you would waste your time and money. Firstly, you would not met great people, I mean the top student in this school which is not helpful in the future career, the connection all around the world through alumni---don't think about it. I am pretty confused whether all the school in US are so ignorant and rude to students until I saw the local student's comment. Also pretty confused why I have to pay like 10 dollar to get the transcript of undergraduate. Everything costly, the school are not like a public school, the price of each credit are high. You would have to wait for and schedule everything and wait like 3 to 5 business days. Efficentless. I don't think Professor really care what you are thinking and your feeling. You would really feel sad as you came to Auraria Campus. I don't know why. The advisor in this school are to some extent helpful. The student are really hard to engage in an efficient and better interaction with their professor. It is kinds of joke. The ranking is gradually slide down from 100 to 200, and recently I really mad about the ranking nearly 500. It is at the very end of Top 500. And dean, the chancellor and the staff should really feel shame for their ignorant of dereliction of duty. And lastly, I think all my class are in the afternoon which is kinds of embarrassing, when you understand that the professor only came before class or often out of office. The university professor earn 110000 annually, which is even higher than DU. Why? Worth it? Where is my money? Why school build lots of new building which to my extent not useful for me. Shame, my money (International student)support almost 60 percent of either the city of denver or the state of colorado. Whether it is facility of transportation or the livelihood. I feel really sad to tell you maybe CU Denver manifest the spirit of the City of Denver, cold, not open minded, not friendly with the international student. You get a...
Read moreI applied for the Summer semester way back in November and my application wasn't even reviewed or accepted until the beginning of May the following year. They didn't send me any emails or bother to call me and inform me that I need to send them my unofficial transcripts from my previous colleges and universities and my official transcripts from high school in order for them to even look at my application. I had to figure it out myself and if I wouldn't have, then I would have never known and just moved on with my life to another university assuming I wasn't accepted. I sent all of my transcripts back in the beginning of March and they still didn't accept my request for admission until the beginning of May. I had plans to start my classes during Maymester. Now, I can't start when I wanted to because all of the Maymester courses I wanted to take in my program (there aren't many options) are filled to capacity. Now, I have to be placed on a wait list and will likely not get to start my classes. I will also have trouble registering for classes for the rest of the Summer semester as well because they waited so long to review my application and didn't bother contacting me. I'm also having issues with the financial aid department and now I don't have time to resolve my financial aid issues in time to start next semester or maybe even the beginning of the next fiscal school year. Screw it, now I'm just going to withdraw from CU Denver and go to Colorado Christian University. At least at Colorado Christian University, if I end up having to pay out of my own pocket, paying out of my own pocket will be...
Read moreUpdate 8/19/2025: Hello again, as I approach my graduation I want to emphasize how much UCD loves to squeeze money out of its students. Whether it's forcing them into subscription-based content to essentially teach ourselves, or offering very few discounts on outrageous parking fees. Either way you're going to cough up the coin. I've found myself asking "what exactly are the teachers contributing?". Requiring platforms like "Packback" for something as simple as discussion posts (which btw costs $40 at the time of writing) is insanity. Just put the content on Canvas! I'm already paying double-per-credit hour compared to states like Florida for a similar degree -- so this choice is really strange. I would not recommend this college unless you enjoy teaching yourself (which I do), have a scholarship, make great money, or have parents to pay for you.
Shout out to all the professors that actually create engaging content without outsourcing it to 3rd party platforms. You are cherished. 💖
Original Review: Not the best college. I have enjoyed my stay here but the class availability is becoming more and more limited post pandemic.
I have to work full time so having online/zoom classes are very important to me. What I'm finding, however, is that UC Denver only has 1-2 online instructors per semester and they fill up quickly. Every semester feels like we're on ebay bidding for a class that we may or may not get to attend.
Not a great experience and frankly it makes no sense why more online formats can't be offered. The demand is clearly there... so do...
