🌟Denver, Colorado Food & Drink Guide (Part 1)~

We had a nice dinner at Corridor 44. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and made good suggestions when we had questions. We had a couple of their champagne cocktails, the Mimosa, Apple Caramel and one called the Napoleon. All of them just tasted like Champagne and not much else despite several ingredients being listed in the description. We had the happy hour half plate charcuterie board which was good. We had two of the open face sandwiches (tartines) for dinner. I had the smoked salmon and my wife had the prosciutto and apple. They were both good and the in house bread they use is excellent. We had chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. Ok, so why four stars instead of five? I would 4.5 if I could. Well, the description of two of our three food items did not match what we actually got. My wife's sandwich was supposed to have an apple compote but had sliced Granny Smith apples instead. Second reason, all three champagne "cocktails" just tasted like champagne with no flavors described. It's a good place and a fine choice if you're downtown for a show or visiting.

This place is always busy, so make a reservation! But it is worth it. Delicious champagne cocktails (check out their happy hour to get them for $5!), fantastic food, and European style service (not obsequious up your behind servers who won't let you get a bite in before checking on you). I LOVE it here! Also, for the foodies out there, the seared sea scallops with garlic parmesean risotto here is BETTER than the exact same dish at Ocean Prime - the flavor of both parts of the dish and the quality of the scallop preparation. You get fewer scallops and less risotto, to be fair, but it's $32 an order vs $56 so you could basically do a double order at Corridor 44 and come out with a better tasting dish, with equal or larger portions than the Ocean Prime version for just a few dollars more.

On 12/30 a large group of my friends and I were walking down Larimer looking for a bar to have drinks in. We were stopped by a man outside Corridor 44 smoking who told us we should come in his bar and have a drink. Our large group of 12 went in the bar and sat down at the bar and began looking at menus to order a drink. When I was going to order my drink I asked the bartender (who happened to be the same man from outside) if they carried any other sparkling wines from Mumm Napa I was meant with nothing but rudeness. The bartender told me that they did not make any other wines. I informed him I have in fact been to that winery and drank multiple wines from them. He then very rudely informed me that I obviously wasn't communicating in proper manner with him and that I didn't know what I was talking about. This conversation ended with me just ordering the only sparkling wine that Corridor 44 carries from that winery. The rest of our group began ordering from him and another girl ordered a glass of house sparkling wine. When she reached to turn the bottle around to see what kind it was the bartender ripped it away from her hands and walked off. I have never experienced such poor customer service and felt so disrespected as a paying customer. We received our tab and left him a small tip and wrote that it was due to poor customer service. This only cause more confrontation as the bartender came and confronted my fiance over his poor tip and wanted explanation. He told him it was due to him acting rude and disrespectful to our group. He them pulled the folder out his hands and turned his back to us. After all this the bartender then started loudly berating us and talking about us to the other bartender right in front of our whole group. At this point we decided we should probably be the adults in this situation because clearly the staff at this establishment was not. We finished our drinks and stood up to be on our way. The second we stood up he pulled all the drinks finished or not and dumped my fiance's half drank drink down the drain. We continued to ignore him as we left. We were only outside the bar for about 2 mins attempting to find an Uber when the bartender followed us outside. He began to tell us we were never welcome back to Corridor 44. We told him that wouldn't be a problem because we didn't make it habit to pay $80 for drinks and just be disrespected and treated terribly the whole time. He then began belligerent and started calling our group of girls names and said that we were just a group of 22 year olds that didn't know how to tip. At this point we started walking away from him down the street and even crossed the street as he continued to yell obscenities at us. This whole situation is completely atrocious and I figured it should be dealt with and the management should know what kind of terrible people they employ. The manager said she saw our Facebook review and talked with the bartenders about it but naturally they had different opinions on the situation. I was then told that the owner would reach out to me and left my name and phone number. It's now been almost a week since the incident and I haven't heard anything. Clearly this business does not care about their customers or how their employees behave. They also deleted our poor Facebook review. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BAR TO ABSOLUTELY ANYONE! I would leave 0 stars if it...

I went to dinner with my family last week and was really looking forward to trying the restaurant. We had looked at many restaurants and finally settled on this one becaue the menu looked great. We had made reservations at 8:30 and they called us at 8:27 and said we needed to make it there before 8:45 because thats when the kitchen closes ( even though there is a 15 minute grace period for the reservation). We walk in at 8:35 and had to wait for a table to get up (past the 8:45 time period of the kitchen closing). They said they would still accomodate us even though the kitchen had closed. We ordered two flights of champange and come mixed champagne drinks which were all delicious. We then ordered the Prociutto and Brie Tartine as well as the Wild Flower Honey Tartine. Both were very good! I ordered the 7 onion french onion soup since it was snowing outside and I was looking forward to some warm the soup. The "burnt brie" on top smelled and tasted bad. It honestly ruined the soup and people across the table were commenting on the smell of the cheese. I've had french onion soup in France to even just grabbing some at Panera. I would order the french onion soup from Panera any day over what I received at this restaurant. My boyfriend ordered the Grilled cheese with the tomoato soup. The tomoato soup was good and the grilled cheese was basically all bread with little to no cheese. I ordered the $30 seared scallops which turned out to be not only bland but also very gritty. Every bite had a decent amount of grit and made it to where I didnt even want to finish it. The risotto was also not cooked well and left a lot to be desired. My sister ended up getting the lamb lollipops which she asked to be cooked as medium rare. The lamb came out well done, but did have lots of good flavor. The cherry balsamic made the dish and was delicious. I'm not sure if the kitchen was rushed to close and didnt put a good amount of effort into the dishes, but if you come here I would stick to the appetizers and the champagne. The dishes did not live up to expecatations nor did it live up to the cost of them. I also didnt appreciate being called before our reservation time to be told the kitchen is closing in 15 minutes and then getting there and having to wait for a table to finish so we...

I was so looking forward to an amazing Friday the 13th here. After reviewing the menu and selection and being a lover of bubbles was wanting to have the most amazing night ever for a special occasion. I even made sure when making the reservation to mention the occasion. We had to clarify twice we weren’t a party of 7 but a party of but two to make sure we got a seat outside as requested instead of inside. We ordered Tartines and the top of the line champagne flights. While I realize accident happens an entire ramekin of ketchup was dropped resulting in ketchup all up my leg, on my shoes and my dress, I had to ask for a napkin to wipe off. Never in my life have I had to go to a bathroom to clean myself up with paper towels. Again accidents happen but I had to ask for even another napkin!!! The service was horrible after that almost as if the waiter and food runner were afraid to come speak to us. We we’re pretty much treated as an inconvenience after that. We asked for a dessert menu and waited for over 30 minutes and were overlooked. When we finally asked for a manager we had to wait for him to come walking from down the street. Crazy not once were we asked if we could get a glass of champagne or just a dessert brought to us, just so many excuses. What was supposed to be us having an amazing night and celebrating turned into us walking to a near by bar and shots of tequila! By the way we are classy enough we still tipped 20% because we know that Denver’s cost of living is high, but spend the money on your own French bread, cheese and bottle!! I have had better service at Freddy’s Burgers! I would not go back, it’s no wonder that a Friday night in June and there were...
