My homey and I stopped in around noon on a Monday and it was dead as Dillinger. The barkeep was quick to greet me and offer me their beer list. There was a decent selection of beer to choose from: a mix of local micros and regular domestics. There was no Sierra Nevada however, but I won't hold that against them. We ordered food after a while. The menu looked tasty, a lot of traditional Irish foods to choose from. I got a Reuben and my homey ordered Shepard's Pie. It only took maybe 10 to 15 mins for grub to get to us. Again, the presentation was decent. The Shepard's Pie came with a heaping portion of vegetables; mostly broccoli and cauliflower. The Reuben came with fries served in a mini deep fryer basket. It also came with Cole slaw. My homes ate the sheeyit out of the Shepard's Pie but mostly left the vegetables alone. I killed my sammich and fries bug the Cole slaw was much too sweet for my taste. The Reuben itself was merely average. Like the Cole slaw, it was too sweet. It was soggy too on the bottom piece of bread due to juice runoff from the slaw. It took the better part of an hour for the bill finally arrive. Without drinks and including tip, it was about 30 bones. I'd probably go back to bet on the races and maybe try the food once more, but there are plenty of other places in Denver that I'd like...
Read moreThe website advertises $3 cocktails for happy hour. I went with a friend and sat at the bar, and we asked him if the $3 cocktail happy hour was a thing. He said yes, and proceeded to offer us drinks such as a mule or Sex on the Beach. We both happily ordered mules and some happy hour snacks. All was great until the check came. The drinks were $6.50 each. Upon asking the bartender, he informed us that the menu was wrong and cocktails are actually $4, but it is an extra $2.50 to mix it with something?? 1. we ASKED if they were $3 and he said yes. 2. (and more importantly) what kind of COCKTAIL isn't mixed with anything??? He knew we were looking for HH pricing, and yet he offered us drinks knowing the price was wrong and that there would be a surcharge. Not to mention the slight attitude problem. I was scoping out the place to see if I should make it the regular Friday happy hour location for my work (15-20 people weekly), but now I will tell them not to go at all. The only reason this gets 2 starts is because the food was cheap and good (prices were actually correct- shocking!) and it has a nice ambiance if you are not looking for cheap drinks or...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could. Yesterday being St. Patrick's Day I thought it would be fun to find my nearest Irish pub and order Corned Beef and Cabbage. After doing extensive research I found this place to be interesting. Hours stated that they opened at 11, so I gave them a call and asked if they were open at around 10:30am , the response I got "Well, I answered the phone didn't I"? So I proceeded to to place my order ignoring that smart allic comment. Got there was not greeted by anyone, there is no visible "Pick Up" area when I finally was noticed by a nice waitress I asked where I could pick up my order. My order was not even placed when I called so I had to wait. Paid 17.00 for 3 small 2" pieces of corned beef, about a 1/2 cup of cabbage and overwhelming helping of mashed potatoes. I work in the healthcare field and did not open the container until I got home that evening. What a HUGE disappointment Celtic on Market.
