Always feel like we're getting being ripped off with DTE. Over the past year we have had 4 technicians come out to check either or water hearer or furnace. Each time they were wrong, we had to call a third-party repairman everytime. Immediately DTEs " Assessement" of the problem is proven false. It's an old house and my mother is disabled. On one of DTEs visits they turned off our furnace * DURING THE WINTER*. They scheduled a technician to come the following day. Leaving my disabled mother and us in the home overnight without heat. I'm talking negative 0. That was unacceptable. I called a furnace repair tech to come and check the furnace. Within hour he came and fixed the issue. Bad coupling wire. DTE never called or showed up the following day. We would have been in the freezing cold for days. Same thing happened again but with water heaters. They said they were broken and needed to be completely replaced. DTEs protection plan doesn't cover replacements just minor repairs ( which doesn't happen because none of the techs can diagnose an issue effectively. So everything MUST Be RePlAcEd.) It's sad. Waters Heaters we're checked. Turns out they are fine. What we were concerned about was condensation build up. We always feel like we're dealing with Grifters when it comes to DTE. Look at these powerlines.

Dte is the worst most unprofessional ever they a work crew were fixing at a home on beland st18091 they parked across my drive for 3 hours ,then wheni became upset and took photos they then began laughing with the neighbors across the street at 18090 beland I'm sure this isn't a standard practice. I also made a call and a complaint very unprofessional is this how you conduct yourselves instead of working let's block customers in and get weed and numbers from the strippers. Well We're back again why do they always park in front of our house park where your working 19053 Beland drug house Friday September 22nd 2023 10 am crew pulled up blocked our drive again, while our gang member drug house harassing neighbors laughed its OK to block us as long as the gang member drug selling criminals are good thanks DTE And note thanks for sending out the fake DTE worker who came unannounced went thru our basement looked thru everything and claimed he didn't find our gas meter said he returned but never did wow really great way to do business

Update: Anyone having a difficult time with them can consider filing a complaint with the MI Public Service Commission. It took seeking legal action to get results. They sent out a different crew that was very nice and finally got rid of the mess the original crew created. I still only give one star because this was unnecessarily stressful and DTE dragged their feet until I started seeking legal action. In the end, it took two over months for DTE to remove the large tree branches they cut onto my garage. ___________________________ We need another choice for energy in metro Detroit because DTE takes advantage of it's customers being the only option we have. I have been asking for DTE to finish a job they started and assess for damage their crew caused to my garage for a month. A crew came out and took care of the small branches we were able to carry out front but did not take care of the complaint of the large branches they cut that fell onto my garage. At this point, I'm talking to a lawyer.

On Wednesday, Oct 17th at approximately 2:20pm, a DTE truck pulled up in front of my neighbor's house and parked. At roughly 2:40pm, two gentlemen entered my back yard without first knocking on my door to cut the power due to non-payment. I approached them by asking what was going on and one man (DAN STEEL) replied, "We have to cut the power at this address because you didn't pay your bill."

I responded by saying, "Sir, do you think you could give me ten minutes to make an online payment? I have young children inside and don't want to scare them. It would only take ten minutes at the most." Dan Steel replies, "NO, the computer knows we are here and we are supposed to cut the power."

I responded, "Please, I am only asking for ten minutes of your time so you don't have to come back in 2 days to reconnect my power and my food won't go bad." Dan Steel replies, "Do you really think you can make me feel sorry for you? I deal with low life's like you all the time and its not my fault you don't pay your bills for months. I responded, "You have never been in a tight spot? PLEASE, it will only take ten minutes. All of my groceries will go bad and I have young children and no where else to go. What do you mean low life's?"

Dan Steel: "NO. Your kids and free groceries are not my problem, BI@#H."

ME: "Listen, F#@$er. I don't know where you get off talking to me like that, but my name is not BI@#H. I want your name and identification number because I am filing a complaint. Enjoy the paperwork because you can't treat people like this, and I will make sure that they know what you said."

Dan Steel then tries to cover his ID that is clipped to his shirt until I tell him: "Fine, your physical description, truck number, and license plate will be enough to identify you." At this point, he flips over his ID and says, "See, BI@#H?" as he quickly walks towards me like he was going to strike me or just try to physically intimidate me, which he did. He must be 6ft tall. Keep in mind my 3yr old daughter is on my sun porch watching us crying her eyes out because he has been yelling and approaching me in this manner screaming, "Mommy, I am scared! Why are they yelling?" He then shoves his ID card toward me, stopping about one inch from my face and says, "My name is Dan and good luck filing a complaint. We will just say you swore at us first. You can't do a thing."

I proceeded to walk out to truck #424 so that I could report the truck number. Dan laughs out loud and tells me, "Good luck! You can't do anything!" His partner just says politely, "Ma'am, there is no need for that."

The other gentlemen at no point said anything offensive, he simply cut the wire. I have no problem with how he conducted himself. However, I have NEVER been treated this poorly and think this is a horrible reflection on Detroit Edison's normally wonderful customer service. This is borderline criminal behavior, and I would like...

I or my boyfriend has no job or can get one, we are not rich, nor do we have money coming out of our arses. We are both on a fixed in come budget with only so much to spend. We can't afford green renewable energy like so many of you can, also is a waste of taxpayer's money, and is not affordable. Gas is cheaper than the electric services you provide! I ran some Christmas lights for only 2 to 3 hours up to 4 days during the Christmas season one year, and my electric bill was over $200.00 by its self, my gas was only $150.00 for the whole month of December, you do the math. Also I never use my ligts any more during the night. I use oil lamps, or a flash light, and or candles now. The day DTE goes off of the nuclear power plant grid or gas powered plants completely, that will be the time I will kill my power off the grid all together! Solar power is unreliable at night also on cloudy or rainy days, and taking up too much space on our soil where more homes can be built, or for more trees to be planted! Also windmills for wind power is old technology that dates back to the early 1700s, and killing off our wild birds like the bald eagle which is almost extinct. We do not support , nor will we support wind or Solar power at all. Coal power plants should be shut down which I agree with you, I will give you that much. But nuclear power, and also hydro power should be considered as an alternative sources of power. No way will I ever use electrical power again if the nuclear power plants go off line all to gether! No way, not happening!!! The only bill we will be paying for is GAS! It will be your loss, not ours. I am trying to save money not wast it. We went without electricity before, and we can do it again. We went camping for three weeks with no electricity, we can go without for the rest of our lives. Go ahead with solar, and wind power. We can do with out! We will never support, or invest into solar or wind power! We also don't believe in global warming either, we feel sorry for thoes who do! That means we will no longer have a cell phone, or any way of charging one if we did have one. No TV, no movies or radio, no cell phones, no heat from a furnace period!

The only thing we will use is a GAS powered stove and hot water heater to cook on, and have hot water to use! Good luck,...

I hold an Amateur Radio Service license issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Since late May 2025, I have been experiencing significant radio frequency interference (RFI) originating from DTE Energy power poles located in my immediate vicinity. This interference is severe enough to disrupt licensed amateur radio operations and has persisted for approximately 90 days.

Timeline of Events:

Late May / Early June 2025: I contacted DTE Energy multiple times to report the interference and request an investigation.

Initial Visit: DTE dispatched a single technician, who confirmed several defective components on nearby poles contributing to the interference.

Follow-Up Visit: A few days later, four DTE bucket trucks arrived, but the crews had no instructions on what to repair and remained idle for over an hour.

Quality Technician Inspection: Eventually, a senior “quality” technician arrived with a parabolic dish. He identified two major interference sources, along with approximately a dozen total defective locations. He generated and submitted a repair order for scheduling at that time.

Since June 2025: I have repeatedly attempted to obtain updates on the repair schedule, but DTE has provided no further communication or timeline for resolution.

Regulatory Concerns: Under FCC Part 15, Section 15.5(b), operators of incidental radiators, such as power lines, are required to cease harmful interference upon notification. Additionally, FCC Part 97.101(d) requires that amateur stations not be subjected to harmful interference from other sources. DTE Energy has been aware of this interference for approximately three months yet has failed to take corrective action, thereby remaining in violation of FCC regulations.

Impact: This ongoing harmful interference has significantly impaired my ability to operate on multiple amateur radio frequencies. DTE’s lack of timely remediation demonstrates both a disregard for FCC compliance and for the responsibilities of a utility provider to deliver clean power without causing unlawful interference.

I am requesting that the FCC require DTE Energy to promptly complete all necessary repairs to eliminate the harmful interference and restore compliance with federal...
