We arrived at Homewood Suites after a stressful night at another property. It was 3am, the kids were worn out, and honestly, we were all just hoping for a clean bed. What we got was so much more than that. The front desk team greeted us like we were old friends, not just late night guests. At that hour, you do not expect warmth and kindness—but that is exactly what we received. It set the tone for the entire stay.||From the moment we walked into our suite, we felt a shift. The space was calm, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. Beds were inviting, the living area felt cosy, and there was just this easy sense of comfort throughout. It was spacious enough for our whole family to spread out, but still had a relaxed, homely feel that made us want to come back to the room at the end of each day.||The kitchenette was one of those practical touches that made everything easier. Having a full sized fridge freezer meant we could store drinks and food without constantly relying on takeaways or restaurants. With enough cutlery, plates, and essentials already in the cupboards, we were able to prepare simple meals and snacks whenever it suited us. It added a bit of calm and convenience to our stay, especially with the kids needing constant refuelling.||The bathrooms were immaculate, and fresh towels and bedding were provided every couple of days without any fuss. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, and everything worked as it should—the TV signal was clear, the lighting was warm and inviting, and the air conditioning was quiet and effective. Nothing felt worn out or neglected. Someone clearly takes pride in maintaining this place.||Even during busy breakfast hours, we always found a table big enough for the six of us. The food selection was great, with enough variety to keep both adults and kids happy. Staff were always visible, helpful, and friendly. Every time we passed reception, whether early in the morning or late at night, we were greeted with a smile. These little moments, repeated over several days, leave an impression. It felt like we mattered, not just like we were passing through.||The pool was clean and well kept, a great place for a quick dip or to relax in the afternoons. It does sit in the building’s shade for part of the day, which meant it was not always as warm as we expected, but it was still a lovely spot to unwind. And the parking situation was excellent. Well lit, easy to access, and we always felt secure coming and going at all hours.||But more than the amenities or location, though it really is central to everything, the thing that stood out was the feeling this hotel gave us. It became part of the reason we loved our Orlando trip so much. It gave us a place to rest, reset, and enjoy time together without stress. Travelling as a family can sometimes feel chaotic, but this hotel made it smoother in all the right ways.||I have stayed at plenty of hotels over the years, but this one genuinely left a mark. It was not flashy or over the top, it was simply done right—with care, consistency, and kindness. I would return without hesitation and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Orlando with or without kids. It made our trip better....
Read moreI’m shocked that the Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando-International Drive/Convention Center bears the Hilton name. As a Diamond member, I expect a basic level of cleanliness, comfort, and functionality—none of which were present during our recent stay.|From the moment we entered our suite, it was clear this property has serious health, safety, and maintenance issues:|Noise Pollution: Our first room was plagued by constant clanking and banging noises coming from within the walls, making sleep nearly impossible. It sounded like someone was hammering metal pipes all night. We were moved to a second room where, thankfully, this issue was resolved—but most other issues remained.|Dirty and Damaged Room: The carpet throughout the suite was heavily stained, ripped, and filthy—far beyond what could be expected, even in a high-traffic hotel. The sleeper sofa was unusable: stained, ripped, broken zippers, and a misaligned mattress that sloped more than 12 degrees—making it impossible to sleep comfortably.|Offensive Odors: The room smelled awful. The garbage disposal reeked of rotting food. The extra bedding stored in the closet reeked of chemicals or cat urine, and the entire first floor had a strong mildew stench due to wet carpet. The hotel tried masking it with overpowering deodorizers, which made it even worse—like riding in a locker room on wheels.|Insects in the Room: Unsurprisingly, we found ants crawling around—likely drawn by the dirty carpet, old food remnants, and damp conditions.|Elevators Barely Working: Only one of the three elevators was operational in this six-story hotel with over 280 rooms. With a major convention in town, the waits were absurd. Being on the fifth floor with young children, this was a major inconvenience.|We immediately brought our concerns to the front desk. After being moved to a second room (with fewer noises but the same foul conditions), we tried contacting Hilton directly. Unfortunately, the nearby properties with better reviews were all booked. Ultimately, the only resolution offered was a one-night refund and a move to a lower floor. Frankly, this was insulting given the number and severity of issues we encountered. After receiving the invoice, we saw that the refund was still missing—despite what had been promised. We had to go all the way back to the front desk and demand they fix it immediately, which should never have been necessary in the first place.|This property is well below Hilton standards. Between the unsanitary conditions, broken furniture, persistent odors, pest problems, and general neglect, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone—especially not families.|If Hilton cares about its brand integrity, this location should either undergo a complete renovation or be removed from the Hilton...

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Sales Department DO NOT OFFER any special group rates for large parties.
In fact, the Sales Manager Debbie didn't offer any special group rates to block about 10-15 rooms for my birthday next month here at the Homewood Suites by Hilton. She initially quoted me more than what reservations quoted me for a standard room rate.
A Double Queen Suite was $141 and a King Suite was $125 for a one night stay and both standard rates were lower than the rate Debbie initially quoted me. I asked her if that was the best she could do and she stated it was. I was aggravated when she told me that so I ended the conversation.
Unfortunately I still had a dilemma, I needed rooms near the restaurant/bar where all of my friends and family were coming down to celebrate my birthday and Homewood Suites by Hilton were one of the closest. Since I had previous experience as a Sales Coordinator for Marriott and we always did our best to give the very Best Rate we could and normally the group rate would be significantly better rate than a regular room rate, I made another attempt. This time explaining my background and how we always offered better rates for more than 10 rooms being booked at one where I worked.
When I asked Debbie if that was the best rate she could give me that the rate she gave me was higher than what a regular reservation rate was, she stated "she was going to see if she could give me a better rate but she doubts it" and placed me on hold. When she came back to the line she said "after discussing it with her Revenue Manager the best rate she could give me was $139". $139 was definitely higher than the King Suite Rate and a $2.00 difference from the Queen Suite rate. Are you kidding me? At that point, I just realized there was no point in wasting my time trying to discuss it with her any further.
*They DID NOT deserve any of our money *
I hope the Owner(s) and General Manager see this review and how their Sales and Revenue Manager lost a great opportunity. Not only was I looking to book rooms for my birthday but I'm also own an event planning company and I book rooms for my clients all of the time but I can guarantee that I will definitely steer my clients away from this hotel since I do my best to save my clients money whenever I can and clearly Debbie and her Revenue Manager DO NOT.
Lastly, I would like you all to know that I gave my business for my upcoming birthday to the SpringHill Suites by Marriott who as always offer a better group rate than their standard room rate. Oh and it was a much better rate than what the Homewood Suites by...
