Last night after work, I took my son into this location to buy a new controller with some money that he saved up. As he was looking at the remotes, which we always buy new, we were also returning a remote that we purchased after Christmas due to stick drift and the controller failing. The young man helping me advised that he can trade it in for any color and a new controller because we paid an extra $16 at the time of purchase for a year warranty and free replacement. I said OK great, my son decided to pick out a black controller and since they didnāt have black, he decided to go with the military looking controller. The young man helping us was struggling to perform the return. So he continued to call the general manager of this location multiple times on the phone. The first time he comes back and says you canāt have a new controller it has to be a used controller, But we have a black one. So my son was excited and OK with that. Then he comes back again after trying to do the return and talking to the general manager for a second time and says sorry we have to give you a used one of the same color which is blue. Not sure why the color is such a huge deal as all the controllers are the same price, however The controller was filthy (took pics). He was trying to clean it with Windex. He said these were refurbished by corporate and sent back to the store, but yet there was literally food crammed in the crevices where the buttons were on the analog sticks, etc. I told him I donāt want this controller. Thereās no way it was refurbished and replaced and itās this filthy. So he said that was the only used blue controller and proceeded to try and clean it and I told him donāt worry about it. I also advised that when I purchased the previous controller, I was advised that for the $16 year warranty, just come back we give you a new controller. Thats a lie. The corporate office located in Grapevine was literally no help and said thereās nothing she can do about refunding the warranty portion or getting us a new controller and that the general manager of the store is the only one that can make this right. I told her that our call was monitored on my end since no one is being helpful at GameStop, as I know that itās being monitored on their end as we proceeded to have this discussion to figure out the best route of action to correct this customer service issue, she immediately said since I just told her the call is being recorded, She can no longer talk to me and hung up the phone. But by that time the entire convo was recorded. So tonight, I cleaned the remote control thoroughly again with a toothpick, a Q-tip, and some alcohol. However, the analog sticks are still uneven and they were uneven when we took them out of the package as well as the controller being filthy. Iām not sure why you buy something new, and buy a warranty and GameStop comes back and tells you when you bring it back you have to take a previously owned used controller that you have no idea how it was handled and treated prior to you, and Receiving it as a replacement to the brand new controller that you purchased from the store. To note, the difference in price from a used a new controller is only $10. I would sincerely recommend going to target (right next door) or somewhere else to buy your video games, controllers, etc. As I decided to go there this evening and they Confirmed that when you buy the one or two year warranty through them and anything messes up, you will receive a brand new piece of equipment for free at no extra charge or need to purchase another warranty. The young lady working there actually threw in an additional controller at no cost in place of the blue controller from GameStop that I shared with her, as we bought another PlayStation 5 there, which I was buying anyway. GameStopās service just did not sit well with me at all.
Not cool GameStop and you have lost our business and our entire familyās business for such a minor fix. To each their own, just thought Iād share...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWARNING FOR CARD GRADERS Employees have horrible attitudes. Apparently they were already angry at something before I arrived. When I asked to get some cards graded the employee seemed perturbed that I wanted this service so begrudgingly and with a sigh he walked over and asked me for my cards. I pulled them carefully out of a bag I had brought them in and carefully placed them down. He slap grabbed at them pulled all 4 forward slapped them back down on the table. When I made a face he looked at me annoyed and told me to chill they were in protective sleeves. I understand but they are my cards and some people don't man handle them or get uncomfortable when you do manhandle them. I would think someone handling somebody else's cards you would have a sense of care. After he made sure to press the stickers on firmly to assure me the cards were In protective sleeves and then tossed them into the drawer. I wanted to see how they treated a random person and not Leonhart (the youtuber)so I didn't ask for a refund after this as I would still like to see how they come back(to test the entire process for a non youtuber), but So far I will be telling everyone to avoid grading cards at 1301 W Glade Rd Euless Tx just from the horrible attitudes alone and the way this one employee handled them. I took extensive photos of my cards prior to sending them off I will crack them open to see if it matches after. WARNING...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time at this store today. During The pro sale...never coming back, I usually shop at one gamestop store, which I drive out of my way because of the people there but the same could not be said for this one. At first I was fascinated on how big the store was, I had put a game on hold via the app since this store had it in stock near me and my home store did not. I waited about 20 minutes in line, I understand it was pro day but even then my home store manages everything in a fast timely fun matter. Their team lead who checked me out spent 10-15 minutes having a conversation to another guest that he was checking out. Talking and talking.... I was close to walking out but I was next in line so I thought " you're already here" My turn came I told him I had a hold For Mario kart 8. TO THINK THEY WOULD HAVE IT READY. ALL SET TO GO......NO. I literally had to wait about 5 more minutes while he had to go grab the game. He was friendly/salty with me. He had a full conversation with another guest and guest before that but me? Kept it all to a minimum
I DID NOT FEEL LIKE AN ELITE PRO...
