They sold me a foundation that turned out to have a huge crack running vertically along the wooden beam down the center of the foundation; it creaked constantly. So I contacted MDUSA through their website, and they agreed to an exchange. They did exchange it for a new one, which is fine, but they charged me a second time for the delivery of that foundation, and justified it because the first purchase record/receipt indicates that I picked up the foundation and took it from the store myself. As I told them, that is incorrect; it's a falsified document. I have a small car and no bungees, so, as I told the only employee in the store at the time of that first purchase, I would need the foundation to be delivered. I realized later that he had written down on the receipt that it was "Customer Pickup." At the time of the first purchase, he told me I could save some money on delivery charges if I just paid the delivery person in cash when they showed up. I said sure, that sounded fine. Then on the delivery date, that same employee showed up to deliver the (first, cracked) foundation, and I handed him the fifty or so bucks. He never told me he was doing anything that was not normal procedure. I followed his lead. I thought that when I was dealing with a Mattress Depot USA employee (the only employee in the store at the time), I was dealing with Mattress Depot USA itself, that he was representing the company, and not himself. Yet in the emails I've received from Mattress Depot USA where they justify charging me twice for delivery of one functional foundation, they claim that I had "contracted with a third party" (their employee). I had no idea that's what I was agreeing to at the time. Had I known that what he was suggesting was not in fact normal procedure, and that it meant I'd have to pay a second delivery fee if I needed to do an exchange on a faulty product, I never would have agreed to it; I'd have insisted on paying the $100 delivery fee and have that be reflected in the receipt, rather than a cash on delivery approach. But I didn't know any of this at the time. I followed the lead of that salesperson, and so I wound up paying him about $50 in cash for a delivery of a creaky, broken foundation, and then paying another $153.72 for the delivery of an actually okay foundation to replace the faulty one. That's what I get for assuming that the only employee in the store is actually representing the store and the company itself (rather than running a "side hustle" as himself, apparently, while he's at work at his main job), and for following his lead. He never said "I'm acting as a third party contractor." I didn't even know it would be him who showed up at my house with the foundation. It all just seems incredibly shady to me. I have brought all this to the attention of the company in my last email to them, and they have not emailed me back since then (it's been a week) to address any of the shadiness or to...
Read moreBuyer Beware! We went in Monday wanting to take advantage of Memorial Day sales for mattresses. Brandon was there and he wasnât pushy as other reviewers said. We went to Mattress Firm prior to coming here and it was high pressure which made us uncomfortable. The salesman at Mattress Firm told us that their prices were set by the manufacturers and that their in store prices would match the prices on the manufacturers websites. We double checked after leaving and all of their in store prices did match the prices listed on the manufacturer websites. When we went to Mattress Depot, we asked Brandon if their prices were set by the manufacturer, and he said yes. While there he said that part of the Memorial Day sale was that you get $400 off a frame with the purchase of a mattress so we upgraded to take advantage of the savings. That night we got home and wanted to check how high the mattress to ensure our sheets would fit, was so we got on the Serta website to find it. We were shocked to see the price was $400 cheaper than we paid. We called the next day to address it with them (100% believing they had an explanation about how the bed we purchased was better than any of the ones on the Serta site) but he said âmy manager said since you got $400 off the frame we canât do anything for youâ. Ah! Now itâs all making sense. They jack up the price of the mattress and offer a fake discount on the frame. I told him Iâd like to just cancel it then at which point he replied âyou canât - go read the VERY fine printâ. Whoa! He was right - it does say all sales are final and no refunds so weâre stuck with the overpriced mattress. Iâve seen ads for this company and they sell themselves as locally and family owned etc and I just didnât think they were this slimy. So before you close the deal here be sure to check prices online or at Mattress Firm because we could have had the same mattress in 1 day vs 2 weeks and saved...
Read moreSo I purchased a matress with a matress protector, box Springs, covers, and a few pillows. When I originally visited this place I was quoted just under 1,500 for all those items. When I returned to purchase a manager was the only employee there and he was "filling in" from their north store but still agreed to the discounted prices I was quoted. This was around Christmas time so I was going to suprise my wife with a new matress she picked out. We'll they had financing advertised there so instead of paying cash I inquired about their financing. I was told yes I could finance this and that was perfect since I could spend some of the cash on the kids for christmas. Long story short about a month later I get a phone call from the manager saying he messed up with the financing paperwork and he was going to loose his job if I didn't sign the financial paperwork, I was at work and didn't have time to go into detail so I went ahead and e-signed the paperwork in a hurry. He called me a total of 15 times withing 1 hour to see if I signed it. Well sure enough after paying for over a year I wondered how come they were still taking payments. Turns out I was leasing the matress. I was supposed to finance it through wells Fargo but they lied to me. I feel like they knew true financing would not work. I am not reviewing their product but I am reviewing the employees fraudulent practice and I feel like this has happened before. I'm in no desperate situation to lease furniture and the 1500 dollar purchase turned into 3000. I spoke to someone at this location and was basically told i signed it its my responsibility, I am contacting the leasing company and getting the contract and possibly talking to an attorney. Additionally I will be filing a complaint with the BBB so that others don't get taken...
