5 stars down to 1 star ( not because the star was an olive branch, ONLY, due to I cannot post negative or no stars currently. I went in Michaels on Everett Mall way, 5/3/25 to get a cple items and pick up a modpodge order I previously ordered while a friend was getting her items next door at wallmarche. I looked at all the sales items, colors, candles and clearance and ended up with a lot more in the cart than the 3 items I needed so I wanted to total what was in the car to see exactly how much money I would need and then I caught wanted to call my bank to see what the balance was so due to clash of the funds vs everything I wanted, I told the very nice cashier I would be right back but I wanted to put some items back on the shelves where they go and I'd be rt back to pay. She offered to get anything as I didn't want but I didn't feel that was right and it was slow right then so I thought I better do it because it seemed like a lot of work just because I hadn't paid attention and then out of no where, (a man I believe) possibly MOD or maybe a new trainee swiftly came up to me and my my service dog and decided to raise his voice and lecture me like a toddler, drawing all of the customers attention to see the the show he was performing and sternly let me know that in the future when customers are putting items to purchase in carts, they were not tolerating having to put things away and customers needed to pay for the intended sales they intended to in the first place. I let him know I was putting the items I was unable to get back where I had got them but due to the snarky and aggressive manner, I felt so humiliated and gave him my cart and let him know that he can just put the entire cart away and that I wouldn't be back in that store at any future times and he said good and he was glad and for me not to visit his store again. I have been going to that store for years as it's clean, close and every employee is very helpful, nice and welcoming. I have spent rather large sums just in minutes restocking all my paints, canvases, and all my supplies as it's a big help to myself and stress relief since my stroke plus keeps me moving and not thinking to much on things when I'm a le. Even when other stores offer quite a big savings I have remained loyal and happy going to that store and having a nice experience. That person made me feel like I was a child doing something wrong and I really just wanted to run out of there and not look back. They're getting what they want, I keep my promises and I would rather go miles out of my way then to ever endure that from a rude, loud, unpleasant person I don't even know nor would ever want to pretty much demanding I will do it how I'm instructed and then hand over my money so he can feel like a big boy. If the exects or accounting wanted to see my purchases through the years and add up previous charges (debit card) that's just some of my purchases, not including cash or cc receipts to Michaels. Maybe talk to that person and explain customer relations and aittle goes a long way, even a smile. I'm sorry you lost a customer but maybe I'll save a lot...
Read moreOn Sunday, July 31, I visited the Everett Store to purchase poster frames. I had received via email a rewards coupon for $5.00 which the clerk confirmed after I entered my telephone number. Upon returning to my car and examining the receipt, I found that the clerk had failed to apply my $5.00 reward. I went back in and met with the girl that had rung me up (she was extremely gracious and helpful but, obviously new at her position) and explained I wanted to take advantage of the reward. Unfamiliar with the system and unsure exactly how to proceed, she called her “manager”, a woman named Shannon, for assistance. This “manager”, Shannon, was utterly rude to me and completely unsympathetic with this new employee, unhelpful any fashion and walked away quite obviously disgusted with the both of us, without giving any clear instruction about the steps the employee needed to take in order to honor my request. The poor girl, unable to proceed without some sort of clarification of the process asked for assistance from a fellow employee, who tried, unsuccessfully to help but, needed to return to her own register as there were other guests waiting to check out. The employee was set to recall the “manager” but, I called her off as I was certain it would only set the “manager” off again and tarnish the abilities of this bright new employee in her eyes. As it was, it was only $5.00 so I chose to simply drop it. This “manager”, Shannon, appears to be in need of instruction herself as to the meaning of customer service and assistance in getting her thoroughly nasty attitude in check. I would appreciate a response from the individual that oversees managerial responsibilities at the...
Read moreWent to Michael’s the other day for some Halloween crafts for my little ones, haven’t gone in years. They have a wide selection and some sales for Halloween items which was great for me since that’s what I was shopping for. So I get to the checkout counter and there are these huge self checkout computers which were so nice but so sensitive when scanning items that sometimes it would register that I scanned two or three or even four of that item. I had to call over the employee multiple times which was embarrassing since a line was forming. But the last time it happened, I was sure to do it quick and move the item away quickly. So then I’m nervous that I didn’t keep an eye on all the things I was scanning and probably got charged for things I didn’t actually get. So finally the next day I get a chance to look through all my purchases and the receipt and realize that a few of the items did not show up on the receipt with the regular price that is clearly typed on the packaging, listing it as two dollars more, so that the discounted price is the price of the regular price that is listed on the package. Clearly being misled here. And I didn’t have time during checkout to check everything as now I wish I had. Disappointed in the whole...
