I had an incredible experience at Henry C. Reid in Fairfield, CT, thanks in large part to Claire, whose knowledge of jewelry is truly unmatched. When I first visited the store a few months ago to get a better sense of what kind of engagement ring I liked, Claire immediately stood out for her expertise, professionalism, and calm, reassuring presence.

She walked me through every detail — diamond quality, setting options, metal types, and design elements — and answered every question I had with clarity and confidence. Claire’s deep understanding of both classic and modern styles helped me narrow down what I really loved. I tried on more rings than I can count, and she never once made me feel rushed or overwhelmed. She made sure that when I finally chose “the one,” I was completely in love with it.

What made the experience even more special was how seamlessly Claire coordinated with my partner behind the scenes after my visit. My family has been using Henry C. Reid and sons since 1959. My grandmother has very high standards when it came to purchasing, or repairing jewelry. The ONLY place she would go is Henry C. Reid and Son, and so do I. Here are some examples why: They treat you and your items like family. They take the time to know the story behind every piece you purchase or the repairs needed. My baby locket (when I was born) that my grandparents bought for me needed to be repaired and polished. They handled the item with such care it impressed me. They wanted to know the story about the piece, and how much it meant to the both of us. They did an amazing job. They knew her health was declining and helped in anyway. I sent them a video of her looking at the repaired locket so happy to see it in its glory. The staff at Henry C. Reid were ecstatic with her response. It shows how passionate they are in their craft. Another example: I had custom royal blue sapphire and diamond studs made. Minnie and Mr. Greg French listened what I wanted. They came out with different cuts to see which I liked best. They were in constant communication during the whole process. The earrings came out exactly as I envisioned. Last two examples: As I waited for jewelry to be brought to the counter, an older women just finished picking up her items. We chatted for a few minutes. She said, “ I don’t make a lot of money but they treat me as every other client walking through their doors. Such warmth and respect. This why I love coming here.” I couldn’t agree more. My husband wanted to buy a 30th anniversary gift for me and after discussing, we decided to update my original engagement ring with a new setting. Although we are longtime residents of Fairfield, we had never been to Henry C Reid. After doing some initial shopping at the popular online sites, we decided that we wanted a more personal experience with a jeweler who could make something custom based on our vision for the ring. We arrived at the store on a Saturday and were instantly made to feel like welcomed guests. Greg French took the time to listen to what we wanted, and patiently showed us options in settings and stones based on our budget. One of the services that Henry C Reid offers is a custom forged setting which is made to nest perfectly with your wedding band. The diamond is perfectly set and secured in a “basket” setting with two stunning side stones. This was the ideal setting and when Greg showed us what it would look like we said “YES”. Greg explained the rest of the process: that we would source side stones, have the setting forged and set, and that would all take about 4 weeks. When the ring was completed, Greg had it placed in a beautiful Henry C Reid box. He even offered to deliver it, which came in a lovely gift bag with a personal note written inside.
