UPDATE - July 2025: I'm sorry to say that several years later, Regal has given up its premier status as well as any ghost of care or attention that it used to have. I've seen many, many movies at this place each year -- I'm kind of a movie junkie -- and after seeing 4 different IMAX showings over 2024 with crummy sound, hoping they'd fix the problems, I won't go back there for IMAX ever again. I'm a producer and sound pro with good ears, and I can tell when subwoofers are clearly not working at all. When there's a thunderous explosion on screen but it sounds like tennis ball landing in a paint can, you know something's wrong. I've literally thought about trying to work there after retirement so I can fix their technical problems for all the customers who deserve better.
I'm not a super finicky person, but it's not worth paying $10+ extra per seat for such a crappy experience. Whatever quality checks they used to do are no longer done at Regal. If you see a movie there, do yourself a favor: skip IMAX and watch in one of their less expensive screens, where ironically, the sound is better.
Oh, and I can't wait for their bot account to reply here. I've tried their customer service before and nothing happened. Don't waste your time.
Regal has surprisingly come from behind to become the best place to watch movies in Fredericksburg -- if you care about the presentation, and not gimmicks like overpriced beer and sushi on a balcony level. I have an inexpensive but decent home theater at home so when I go to the movie theater, I expect a picture and sound at least as good as at home. Even on its small screens, Regal actually does a wonderful job of this.
Of course the IMAX is huge, with thundering, rock concert quality sound. If it's labeled IMAX it has to be done right. But what separates Regal from the other local theaters is that attention to quality is present in all the other screening rooms, from large to small. I have seen movies in at least half the rooms at Regal in the last six months, and every single one has been a good showing with clear, exciting sound and crisp picture.
I feel like the management at Regal must put some kind of care into their work, because at other local theaters that are just as new or fancy, you don't get the same experience from top to bottom. I hope they keep this up because if they're not showing a movie at Regal, we sometimes...
Read moreIf there is a place that needs upgrading, updating, and more staff, it is this Regal Cinema location. Nov. 17, 2018, to see Widows at 7:20pm. Arrived at 7pm. Two toilets in women's restroom behind the ticket counter was spewing water. No place behind the ticket counter for elderly, disabled, or parents with small children to sit while waiting for their movie. Staff was extremely overwhelmed. Need more staff during peak period, especially during the Holidays. The digital label for the Auditorium showing the 7:20pm Widows, was labeled Fantastic Beasts and the room was still being cleaned at 7:15pm. There was only one Auditorium showing Widows. By the time the room was "cleaned" and ready for new guests, most had been directed to a different Auditorium were now being sent back to #12 because the technician missed programmed the labels for the Auditoriums. The tickets sold for correct Auditorium but labels for the rooms were incorrect. Because there was only one Auditorium showing Widows, the 7:20pm Auditorium was completely full. The only remaining showing on the Saturday of its debut weekend was 10:30pm. Seriously? I am a Senior Citizen who is disabled. The seat for disabled persons in Auditorium #12 and their companion may as well been on the floor. I almost threw out my right knee when I learned how low to the floor the seat was as my butt was headed in the seat. Did I mention loose floor bolts? Can we say upgrade? Now let's deal with the treatment of the movie Widows on its debut weekend. Of the three movie theaters in Fredericksburg, VA, this Cinema was the only location to show the movie and as mentioned earlier, only had one Auditorium during peak hours, 4, 7:20, and 10:30pm. I highly recommend the movie. Ms. Viola Davis, does a spend off of her hit night-time drama; "How to get away with murder." Great Plot, drama, and suspense. Oh, Sade's hit "The Big Unknown" was theme song and grand the finale as the credits...
Read moreI usually go to Paragon village but figured Id give Reagal a chance. We had just left lunch and didn't plan on having leftovers but we did. Unfortunately today it like 100 degrees out so its ungodly hot. So we brought our leftovers in saying we know we can't bring the food into the theatre but if we could just leave our bag at guest services during the movie because we would usually just leave anything in the car but today is unusually hot. The "manager" was completely ridiculous and refused to let us leave it there. It wouldn't have been in anyone's way and wouldn't have caused any issues. It was absolutely unprofessional and not accommodating at all. It's a rare situation with the heat so things are a bit different today then any other day so you would think any normal company would understand that. With all the movie theatres to choose from you just now made it very clear to me that I will not use this theatre again as the customer service is clearly lacking. It's the small things that make customers choose one buisness over another and its abundantly clear this place doesn't go out of their way at all to make their customers come back. Very sad......oh...I'll also add that I called Paragon to ask them if I would be able to leave my leftovers at their customer service during my movie because of the extreme heat and they said it would be absolutely no problem at...
