I had a terrible experience with one of their drivers. My husband and I were going up to Horseshoe Mound Preserve. The road up is quite narrow and really only fits a car and a half. For some reason, this trolley company thinks it makes sense to drive their trolley up there. We were almost to the parking lot when a trolley decided he wanted to come down. He starts exiting and blocks us from being able to enter the parking lot. Then he starts waving at us and yelling that we need to reverse down this hill even though the sign clearly states that the cars going down need to yield to cars going up (probably because of the giant cliff on our side that we could’ve literally tumbled down). He refused to reverse back to the parking lot even though he was literally one cars length away from it. It was absolutely terrifying and so unprofessional to force us to reverse down. He finally started to move aside once another car came up behind us & he realized he couldn’t bully two cars into reversing down these hills. I was planning to use this tour company on our next trip but 100% will never ever use it since I know now how disrespectful their...

That caused me to hold up my arm and signal to stop. At that time the driver honked two or three times signifying his/her displeasure with us and the law regarding pedestrian rights.
I understand that trolleys require a city of Galena permit. It should be revoked and the driver should be ticketed and it is incumbent upon the “Visit Galena” organization to chastise Galena Trolley. Further, bad press on review sites are a bad way to promote an area and I am considering taking that action.
I called the Galena Trolley organization and spoke to a “Misty” and reported the facts. She was unreceptive in general. Further when I asked for the owners name she refused to divulge. I now know that is a Ms. Noreen Brill and I will track down her email and give her...

A one hour drive throughout downtown and the nearby homes while a tour guide tells stories and history of many of Galenas highlights. On nice days, the open air trolleys are the perfect indoor / outdoor experience.
Some of our family, who are long time Galena residents, even found the tour interesting and learned a few things.
Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the 4% surcharge if using a credit card. Not only does this rate exceed what the credit card companies charge, but it’s the cost of doing business - not a cost that should explicitly passed along to...
