Edited: the DJ booth takes song requests. However, if it is not hip hop or rap they will not play it. My girls requested 1 song 2x and the dj skipped right over it. She finally played it after I asked if they only play one kind of music and she had an attitude about it. My son's requested another song of a different genre and it was skipped over, as well. We paid for admission for 8 and spent at least $75 on 2 frozen pizzas and drinks. $25 for a subpar frozen pizza is ridiculous. As a large family, we will take our money elsewhere. We have spent a ton of money at this place through the years between parties and Saturday afternoon skating and the last dollar we'll ever give them was spent there today. Don't take song requests if you're not going to play all of them.
This is the best skating rink in the area with a large and very nice wooden floor. Definitely check the times/themes. Midday is generally better for new skaters/young kids. We have not attended for the late night skating events. They recently added bag checking and metal detection before entry. The party rooms are cramped so I suggest renting 2 rooms if you have more than 10 guests. The party hosts are great, though. Seating is...

Read moreWhatever positive things you may have heard about Rivergate Skate Center are likely true. I visited with my family recently and had an amazing time. There was physical security at the entrance, and purchasing the ticket was a breeze. The facilities are very well maintained and the staff was really friendly. We all enjoyed the music as well. At a couple of points during the evening, there were some kids that wanted to play tag and skate recklessly around others. The rink referee would come out almost instantly to remind them that this was a safe place for everyone, and that their behavior wasn’t appropriate. I saw people of all ages and races enjoying the rink together and having a great time. 10/10 would recommend this experience to anyone in the greater...
