Hustlers!! I am completely appalled by the lack of integrity anyone has in this establishment. My fiancĂ© and I came in the store shopping for our wedding rings. We purchased an engagement ring and wedding band set for $2,000. Beautiful rings for a great price. So where is the issue? We were given a list of their approved appraisers and told to have the rings appraised within thirty days of the purchase date. They said our rings would appraise double what we paid for guarantee and if they did not, we would be reimbursed the difference. I had the rings appraised. It cost $170.00 for both. The rings were appraised at $2,700. Swing and a miss!! When we brought the appraisal and receipt into the store and informed the salesperson that the rings did not appraise for double the purchased price. We were asked to give them a few minutes, while they made a âphone callâ. I would have loved to be a fly on that wall!! Twenty minutes later the gentleman came back out and explained that these particle rings were not made by the Jewelry Exchange and therefore did not fall under the Double Value Guarantee, but rather the Low Price Guarantee. Liars!! Well, this doesnât make sense because their Low Price Guarantee is when a customer finds an equivalent item at a lower price and that item is in-stock and offered to the general public, The Jewelry Exchange will give the customer a refund. We would not have been given a list of appraiserâs and told our rings will appraise double the purchased price. Tricksters I tell ya!! We followed their instructions and the bottom line is they messed up. They tried to turn the situation around as if we misunderstood them. Absolutely no integrity!! It was their mistake not ours! They made no apologies and in fact were down right rude to us. In the end, they offered a us a refund for the rings. We returned the rings. Here is the thing: They shouldnât make these big claims if they wonât back it up. Mostly, they should have integrity and keep the good relationship with their customers. If you look on their website (this is also printed on the back of the receipt) the Double Value Guarantee states: If it does not appraise double the value of the purchase price, then at the discretion of the Jewelry Exchange they will either refund the full purchase price and the cost of the appraisal upon the return of the undamaged item, or give store credit for the difference and half of the cost of the appraisal. Well they were not going to extend a little more than $1,300 dollars to us in store credit, but rather chose to refund the cost of the rings, so they can have their items back and be without a loss of money. Never mind the fact they lost a customer for life and potentially new customers because I am sharing my story with everyone I know. Even with people I donât know, if I over hear them talking about The Jewelry Exchange. To prove my point of the lack of integrity any of these people have, if they also returned the $170.00 dollars for the appraisal, they would have honored their guarantee. Thieves!! Shame on you Jewelry Exchange!
Wanted to add that after I sent an email to the manager, I got a phone call telling me to come in and they would return the cost of the appraisal. A total of five visit's to this store and I do not own a single piece of jewelry from them. Save yourself some time and frustration by...
Read moreI love these guys! And the gals just as much! I had been stashing bits of cash for quite some time with the idea of being able to finally buy my wife a worthy wedding ring. It happens that she manages all of our income and while this has been one way of achieving 30 years of marriage (tomorrow on Valentine's Day, 2018), it has not been good for covertly acquiring a diamond ring. First I needed help knowing that I was ready and had enough $$ to make it happen and then I needed to believe that I could match my intention with something the Jewelry Exchange could offer.
From the moment I entered the JE, Inez managed the first need of feeling ready and able as if she had been "reading my mail". I left and spent 2 weeks plotting how to put a couple of resources in my wallet and then in the JE bank. Unfortunately, I started to chicken out. During that 2 weeks the Valentine's Day advertisements from the chain stores started getting thick on the TV and I started sniffing them out online and was encouraged. Before visiting any of the "big boys" I wanted to revisit the JE first, mostly because of how I felt treated by Inez and indirectly, other folks there.
Once back at the JE, I was met and assisted by Betty. I'm almost embarrassed by how easily she fixed me up with band, setting and diamond that I would be more than happy with, but more importantly, would suit my wife perfectly. At this point, I asked the Manager, Steve to please talk to me about the stone. Steve replied by picking it up with his large tweezers, backed away several feet and pointed the head of the diamond in my direction. He called my attention to the sparkle and I asked where to sign.
At this point, a Supervisor named Richard took over to work on selecting the best fitting crown and scheduling the work. He worked with me on scheduling so that I could have the ring in time for the only shared day off for my wife and I and I was able to arrange for the carefully orchestrated surprise delivery that I had in mind. I can't emphasize enough that the timing was critical and Richard heard me and I really knew that he made some effort to make it happen. Not only that, although I felt that I had become an anxious pest, he never made me feel like anything other than a welcome guest in his place and a partner in a project.
I am really grateful for this entire experience and I feel affirmed in the intuition that told me that I was in the right place from the first visit.
I can't thank...
Read moreMan... I woke up one Sunday (5/2/2021) determined to take a very big step forward in my relationship. It had been a long time coming, and just knew it was time. I had purchased jewelry before in the past, and I knew what I wanted and wasn't looking for. After seeing many commercials for the Jewelry Exchange, I decided to check them out. I walked into the Jewelry Exchange and was greeted by Richard, and Miriam. I immediately expressed to them that I was there to spend money, I wasn't sure I wanted to spend. We laughed a bit, and they then began to ask me what I was looking for? I told them I was looking for a ring, that per her request was not "gaudy", or so raised that it would constantly catch on things. Richard began to show me single stone solitaires, but it was actually Miriam that knew exactly what I was looking for and she proceeded to show me the Halo design rings. Huge Shout out to Miriam for that assistance. Once we determined what kind of rings I was looking for, Richard proceeded to show me the rings he had in that design. As I was being shown a few different options, I noticed one sitting in the case that caught my eye. This was a yellow halo diamond 1ct, and had the matching band, and both were studded with smaller white diamonds. I was immediately impressed with the ring, and began to inquire about financing options. The Assistant Manager Inez had briefly stepped in before to show me what the ring looked like on a lady's finger, and she was extremely helpful as well. Inez is small, but don't let her size fool you. I think a "mama bear" is her spirit animal, she has got lots of personality. Inez pushed for me to advocate for myself in requesting a quicker turn around on the resizing of the rings (Originally told 2-3 weeks for resizing), and getting them back sooner (Within 7 days), as I had hoped to possibly propose Sunday May 9th, 2021. I remember going to pick the ring up on May 8th, and having second thoughts. Inez was the one who told me that she wanted me to be comfortable. Inez insisted that I go back to the cabinet and see what else might interest me. I remember looking at the original rings once more, and saw how clean they were from being serviced, and I decided to keep my original choice. I deeply respect the low pressure buying experience that I had here at the Jewelry Exchange. I feel as though they took very good care of me. I highly recommend this location for all of your...
