Monroe Rooftop — Restaurant in Hampton

I heard about all the great experiences about the Monroe rooftop and I couldn’t wait to visit! My first time was this past weekend and the good reviews I’ve heard were an understatement! Let’s start off the ambiance.., very welcoming, when I reached the actually rooftop the beautiful aesthetics was something that jumped out.. The music was grown and sexy, some ole school classics like reggae and new school had me two stepping… okay, let’s get to the food… smoked lemon pepper wings were the bomb, those crab cakes must’ve been chef kissed lol and even enjoyed the chicken sandwich and I’m not a huge fan of pepper Jack cheese! But we all know food and atmosphere can be great but the customer service and professionalism was the icing on the cake! Everyone was attentive to our party and those waitresses worked the room! So yes, Monroe gets an five star review from me(a person that is big on ambiance) and I will be visiting the next time...

Hi, we purchased a six person vip for this event, under the original flyer which advertised an appearance by Bobby shmurda. Come to find out that bobby shmurda will not be present anymore. upon reaching out ro the concerning parties for a refund. It was explained that the section can not be refunded. As a result of this we decided to just attend anyway since we already paid and pretty much dont have a choice. Now as a vip ticket holder we recently received a message stating there is now a two bottle minimum purchase due to a "sell out" which is not true because tickets are still being sold as im writing this. My first time visiting and very disappointing. I went to the rooftop and was charged a cover fee for $20 by a worker, Lance Henderson who took cash or cash app only. Now I can understand if there was an event but there were no events so why a cover charge? There is no information on the website about this. When I got in and went to the bar there were no chairs. I asked for a drink and I was told there was no ice and limited drink selections and the bartender said “sorry for the inconvenience” I was not impressed to say the least. I did leave.
