The Deep — Restaurant in Hampton

I had the pleasure of dining at The Deep restaurant in Hampton last night with some friends. We are regulars at a few restaurants, but wanted to try something new and we are so happy that we did. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was flavored to perfection,, and was super juicy. The mashed potatoes that came with my meal were so flavorful that I did not need to add anything such as butter, gravy or salt that I normally use. One of my friends ordered the tuna melt, which was a large piece of seared tuna, sandwiched between a brioche bun with some type of cream-caper sauce. I was fortunate enough to get a bite of her sandwich. I must say that that is the best tuna I have ever had. It was super juicy and the caper sauce complemented it perfectly. I was not expecting the juiciness of the tuna because most of the seared tuna that I’ve had in restaurants up to this point has tended to be dry. Our other friend ordered the charcuterie board and was happy with her selection. Not only was our food delicious but Our server was friendly and helpful. “I recently visited The Deep In the Beautiful Downtown Hampton area and was truly impressed. The atmosphere was cozy, modern, vibrant, making it a perfect spot a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner.

The service was exceptional—our servers Mak and Lexi was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we had everything we needed.

As for the food, we tried Charcuterie Board, the Chicken and waffle Sandwich and the French dip Sandwich. Each dish was beautifully plated, bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked. I especially enjoyed The Charcuterie Board, it was a highlight!

We went there on Tuesday night for the soft opening, arrived quite late (past 8pm) . The place was packed and buzzing ! Great atmosphere, light, fresh decor, felt great . Staff was super friendly and welcoming. We ordered the crawfish dip as a starter: very good, creamy, chunky, with a hint of heat from the Jalapeños, crunchy pita chips do scoop it up - very yummy ! Mains were the Short-rib French Dip sandwich, and the braised short rib with mashed potatoes, onion straw, and crisp, green asparagus. The food was a delight, meat fell off the fork and the mashed potatoes where just heaven, thick, flavorful and buttery ahhh. So good!
