I am utterly appalled and deeply disappointed by the experience I endured at Rosie's casino. As a dedicated real estate professional in Virginia, I was genuinely eager to offer my support to this establishment for its growth in a new area. Yet, this enthusiasm was swiftly replaced by frustration and anger when my spouse and I were disgracefully intercepted at the entrance ā all because of our entirely legitimate service animal. We came equipped with every possible piece of documentation ā tags, IDs, and a wealth of pertinent information ā and yet, we found ourselves subjected to the humiliation orchestrated by none other than the security guard Mike Williams. To make matters worse, his own team of security guards stood witness to this appalling spectacle, shaking their heads in disbelief, revealing their lack of respect for him as well. It was evident that they were only reluctantly complying with his directives out of a sad and unfortunate necessity to retain their jobs.
Picture this: a scene of confrontation right at the entrance, involving Mike Williams aggressively demanding intrusive answers about our service animal. The audacity of such an invasion of our privacy, particularly in front of a crowd of onlookers, left me seething. A service animal is not a topic of casual conversation; it's an indispensable lifeline for my spouse, a symbol of hope, and a beacon of comfort during challenging times. Mike Williams seemed to forget this as he persisted in his shameful behavior, remaining utterly oblivious to the service he should have been providing ā security, not interrogation.
Once we finally managed to cross the threshold, Mike Williams continued to maintain a stony silence, seemingly unmoved by the impact of his actions. However, his fellow security guards made it abundantly clear through their disapproving glances and exchanged whispers that they had no respect for his handling of the situation. They were, unfortunately, shackled by their need for employment and therefore, had to abide by his dictates, no matter how misguided they may have been.
What I find most infuriating is that Mike Williams' approach and demeanor were not only unacceptable but had profound and far-reaching consequences. His behavior inflicted emotional wounds on my spouse, resulting in a spiraling of emotions that necessitated immediate attention from both our therapist and primary doctor. This anguish, caused by baseless questions and derogatory attitudes, could have been entirely avoided if only he had adhered to the very state law he chose to ignore ā "§ 51.5-44. Rights of persons with disabilities in public places and places of public accommodation." I hope he takes the time to familiarize himself with it, as well as the principles of common decency and respect.
Rest assured, Mike Williams, that your establishment will no longer have the privilege of my patronage or that of my spouse. Instead, you will be hearing from our attorney at Weintraub. The prejudiced treatment we experienced is inexcusable, and I am compelled to pursue justice for this blatant mistreatment. Furthermore, the absurdity reached its peak when we were unceremoniously escorted to our car, with Mike Williams going so far as to label us as "belligerent." If only he realized that our ire is saved for legal battles, not pointless confrontations with security guards.
Let this review serve as a reflection of the tumultuous emotions stirred by one man's ignorance and insensitivity. While I have nothing positive to say about this ordeal, I hope that, at the very least, it will serve as a catalyst for change. A word of advice for Mike Williams: Educate yourself, learn empathy, and respect the dignity of your patrons. And to his fellow security guards: I hope you find the strength to rise above the shackles of necessity and demand better from your leaders. The undeniable prejudice we faced is a stain that cannot be erased, but I hold out hope that Rosie's casino can be more than just the sum of its...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in Rosie's in Hampton, VA on April 10, 2024, I came in after 8 pm and capacity was not at the maximum so I was playing 2 machines for hours. This random lady wanted to play a machine I was on, she asked, I heard her but there were other empty machines on the row and I had money in both my machines so I kept playing. maybe she saw me winning ; I don't know but she picked the machine she wanted that I was playing. Next moment she comes back with security caucasion guy with blue and black shirt wearing glasses the guy tells me if I am not a triple crown player I needed to log out and give the lady one of the machine to play, a patron told the lady there was an empty machine by her the security guy said to me she don't want to play that machine she wants one of the machines you are playing...smh I ask was she a triple crown and was told it was none of my business by security and that woman that wanted one of the machines I was playing. I gave her one but not the one she wanted. Rosie's if you have special rules for special players please advertise at the entrance because I do this all the time but last night left me furious! I am not going to have a triple crown player if she was but she never put a card in the machine do tha... this is harassment on another level by your security and the player!!!!! You never know who watching you spend money then use their weight to take a machine because they saw how much you vested!!!! I am furious this has to stop!!!!!!!!!!! I tried calling your place today around 6:20pm to speak to a supervisor regarding my experience the guy said his name was Tom Jones and he was a supervisor who had me tell my story to hang up on me, I was asking him for someone over him no one was availble he said so he was referring me to HHR but did not have a number or email to give me, he told me to look it up on the Rosie's Website!!!!! Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo myself and my wife use Rosieās as our date night and have been going a little over a year . With that being said Iām going to give my honest opinion on our experience so far . First off Rosieās is always very clean and very well maintained, staff have always been kind , courteous and helpful , overall very welcoming. Food is very good and Iāve even gone in a couple of times just to eat and Iād rate the food 8.5 . With that being said the gaming aspect has in my opinion changed quite a bit since we first started going . I remember always seeing other players getting hand pays and pretty nice winnings then within the last 4-5 months that has changed drastically in my opinion . There rumors swirling amongst the players that ownership had changed and thus tightened the machines up and from my experience is definitively seems that is the case . I rarely see hand pays being done and can remember at one point if you did win any kind of jack pot it would take a little bit of time because they would often be paying someone something. That is definitely not the case now . So in my opinion it dose seem that management has changed . And the one thing that really bugs me now is when you print a ticket and insert in the atm it would give you the whole ticket change and all . That is no longer the case because they have made the atms not able to pay out change any longer ., so now it prints a ticket for the change portion thus keeping the change portion of the payout . Multiply that by all the patrons and that equates to quite the haul for Rosieās on left over change . Seems corrupt to me . Overall in the beginning it was a lot of fun and fair but definitely no longer feels that way . We have decided although a little longer drive for us to stop going to Rosieās and instead go to rivers casino . Itās just the overall experience is no...
