Worst customer service I've ever experienced in Helen. My wife and and I come to Helen 3-4 times a year. Finally convinced him to try this place today July 28th at 11am. When we first walked in we were told to they were running behind and to come back in 15 mins. Asked is they needed our name sais no we would be fine to come back and ordwr in 15 mins. No worries did a bit of shopping headed back. Waited by register with no direction from anyone so we stood there for 10 mins waiting until more customer come in and start taking seats. We ended up getting the last table and sat and waiting thinking they would come get our order or let us know when they were ready. 3 more groups of people come in and then the lady at the register starts taking orders. My wife and I were shocked. Three groups ended up in front of us. The gentleman behind us had mentioned to the lady that they and a few others have been there for 40 mins and now they are taking groups in front of us which would result in us waiting twice as long. The lady taking orders said "We'll get to you as soon as we can". He said it was a bit unfair and they shouldn't be taking orders for others that came in after. Her next response was "I can't deal with that' and continued to take orders. The worst part was next the women making the crepes came from around back saying with an EXTREMELY RUDE ATTITUDE saying that in exact words were "it's not her fault they fell behind she had to make batter and that theres 1000 other places to eat around there" well okay then my wife and I left and a big portion of the line left as well. We found another restaurant to eat and when sitting down found out a few others fell into the same situation and left as well. We will not return or recommend them! Horrible customer service! I would be ashamed to have these women working for me and driving...
Read moreNorth Georgia local here. Been coming to Helen for many years and usually stick to certain restaurants in Helen as most are overpriced tourist traps and reviews don't usually reflect actual service due to all the tourists, so I try to offer my reviews in the area when I feel it might help others. I don't recommend this restaurant. Came here for my birthday with my girlfriend because our favorite restaurant Cimmi's is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays, decided to try something new. We also both have worked in the service industry as servers for a few years in the past and try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt for that reason. The menu was missing many items they had crossed out and some items that weren't available were also not crossed out and updated on their menu and we did not find out until walking up to the counter to order. Yes, there are no servers and no real personal service here, just a cashier. They were not very busy at all, but they brought out food for multiple other groups before ours. The restaurant atmosphere feels very cramped and definitely like the food is designed for more grab and go, which might be fine for some people. Hashbrowns were from frozen. They tried to make it right by giving us a free dessert, and while the key lime pie was quite good, it was in wrapping from being shipped in to their restaurant in boxes (not homemade). Crepes were OK, but nothing to write home about and my girlfriend's Elvis crepe didn't even have the correct ingredients as was listed on the menu. Meal for 2 people cost $40 here. You could get more food, better service, for $10 cheaper at Cimmi's or Huddle house or where else in Helen, a heafty tip for the service included. This place is just another overpriced tourist trap and we will not be...
Read moreI’m unsure if this is a family owned business, or what the dynamic is. My friend and I stopped in for breakfast on Sunday, Feb 11, 2024. There was a guy in his upper 20s - 30s and a younger woman I’m guessing between 17-19 working at the time. The guy was CLEARLY on drugs. Slurring his speech, swaying, talking in obnoxiously loud volumes. He couldn’t complete taking my order. He bumped into the other worker carrying coffees and knocked a trash can into the floor. Although he was not rude, he was cussing in front of a family with a kid and every person in there was very uncomfortable. He later “burned” his hand and LEFT the girl alone to run to the drug store for medicine, but not before announcing to the entire establishment that he was leaving due to a burn on his hand and pleading with us to be patient with his coworker. The younger woman was clearly mortified but I could tell she was not shocked by this behavior. She was so professional, kind, and simply picked up his slack. Before leaving, my friend and I thanked her and suggested she search for another job, which made her tear up. I have thought about her often since we left. Like I said, I’m not sure the dynamic of the establishment, but the Manager/Owner/Operator should feel ASHAMED for allowing her to be on shift alone with someone like that. Or let alone employing someone like that. DO NOT eat here. Especially if you have young children. And to the young lady who was working there, I truly hope things get better for you and I’m sorry you have been subject to...
