A quaint and picturesque motel on the outside and a nightmare on the inside. We booked a stay at the Heidi for Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7. We were looking forward to our stay as we had not been to Helen, GA. I was in contact with "Michelle" via text beginning Saturday, September 6. She stated she would send "a detailed text containing your room number", etc. shortly and asked me to reply to her message so she could confirm my cell phone number. I responded, "Good morning, thank you", to which she "hearted" with an emoji. I say this to show that we were initially communicating and we both had correct phone numbers for one another. The communication continued throughout the day with information regarding the room and motel. I thought it was great communication. We arrived at the motel between 5:30pm and 6pm. We unloaded the car, went into the room and changed clothes. We didn't stay long and headed back out to eat dinner. Upon arriving, we thought the room was cute and mostly quiet from outside noise. I noticed that the room was freezing temperature, and then saw that someone had put the thermostat on 61 degrees. They supplied a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker with coffee. They also supplied cups, an ice bucket and liner. The bed is very high but we didn't mind. The bathroom was supplied with towels and washcloths, toilet paper and soaps. We arrived back at the room around 10:30pm to 11pm. I immediately took a shower and while doing that I noticed a purple residue on the shower wall. I wasn't sure what it was but then realized it was either shampoo or conditioner. Because there was shampoo/conditioner on the shower wall without concern, I knew the room was not clean. I began to look at the bathroom and saw hair everywhere. I then looked at the bed and found stains and hairs all over the mattress. I then pulled out the drawers in the dress and nightstand and again, hairs everywhere. I was sickened. If there was that much disregard for cleanliness, were the sheets cleaned? I imagine not. I was so upset that I called the Holiday Inn down the street to see if they had availability for the night. They did but it was $400 that night so my husband was not willing to pay that. I grabbed a towel from my bag and put it on the floor. I did not sleep at all that night, as I was too upset and obviously uncomfortable from laying on the floor. However, why would anyone want to sleep in the bed if it was not clean? The next morning, I text "Michelle" and asked her to call me. No response. I waited about 30 minutes and sent another text explaining that we checked out 1 day early and I would like a refund for 1 night due to the room not being clean. I was willing to pay for the night we stayed but did ask for a refund for 1 night. The text was time stamped and there are a ton of cameras on the property so they can verify that we left when we said we did. I still have not heard from anyone at the Heidi (today is September 20) and I am very disappointed. The motel is super cute and could be a wonderful place to stay if it was properly cleaned. It is centrally located in a great spot with a spectacular view...

As a returning customer to this small business, it is with great regret that I submit this discerning review. Upon entering our hotel room, we encountered a large cockroach on the floor. After discussing the issue with the groundskeeper, they assured us that maintenance would conduct a deep clean. I also requested that they address the air conditioning issue, as there was a substantial amount of mold visible on the ventilation system, which appeared to have been present for some time. With my family's enthusiasm for the stay, and the establishment's offer of a complimentary breakfast at a nearby coffee shop, I decided to remain in the room for the night. However, later that evening, another large cockroach was spotted, and the noticeable 1-inch gap under the door raised further concerns. Upon discovering this, my family no longer wished to stay. We appreciated the offer of a complimentary breakfast for the first night, but given the presence of cockroaches, we checked out before 8 AM the next morning. The owner disputed our checkout time, claiming we were still on the premises, but our vehicle's 24-hour surveillance system confirmed that we had departed for the Atlantic Botanical Gardens. When I contacted the property management to inquire about the checkout process and a potential refund, they offered us an alternative hotel room with a hot tub. Given the circumstances, we did not find this offer suitable, as it would have placed us in a room below the one that had cockroaches, and we had no assurance that the issue wouldn't persist. After allowing time for the business owner to respond, we have yet to hear back. Unfortunately, it appears this establishment has declined in quality; therefore, as a returning guest to the lovely town of Helen, I would advise others to consider alternative...

*I am changing my review to 4 stars now due to the fact that they finally did respond and today I did receive my items. Hate that it took this to get them to send it, but they did. For that I am very thankful and appreciative. It is a cute little motel and we enjoyed our stay, so thank you.

Very untrustworthy owners. I hate to write this review. I am not one to do this. However, they have lied and were untrustworthy. We traveled all the way from Houston, TX. We stayed there with some family. Such a cute little town. I absolutely loved being there. However, when we checked out, my son accidentally left his Switch games there. We were already 2 hours out on our drive back home to Houston when he realized. We got in contact with the owner. We were told they did find the games there. I asked if they could ship them back and that I would pay for shipping. They agreed and said not to worry about the shipping. I thought, how generous and awesome of them! We provided them with our home address. A week went by. Nothing. I called and I was told by the receptionist that the owner was not there. I left my phone number and was told someone would reach out. Nothing. Days went by and I reached out again. I was told the person who was shipping them was out sick. Ok cool. Fine. I waited more. Nothing. I reached back out again as did my son. We were told someone would provide the shipping number. Nothing.

It’s been 2 months now and I have not received anything. No communication. No games.

I am irritated. Yes, it is my sons fault for accidentally leaving the games there. However, don’t promise to send something and then keep giving BS excuses and leading us on. I will never stay here again. I’d rather stay at a big chain hotel now due to...

Loved this hotel. The rooms are beautiful, updated, clean and very spacious! It was well equipped with everything we needed. Michelle and Chris were friendly and communicative. Unfortunately, we did not rest well due to the noise; traffic, music, and people gathering outside of room talking late at night. But that is to be expected due to its location. So I would keep that in mind when booking. The location is fabulous as it is in walking distance of everything! If you have mobility issues and plan to park at the hotel and walk to the shops and restaurants, then this is not for you. The motel is on a hill and you will have to walk down a slope to get to the sidewalk. Other than that, I recommend Heidi Motel for your Helen, Ga stay. *My only recommendation to staff is that you ask guests upon check in that they not gather outside of doors visiting due to noise. I would also carpet the upstairs as it sounds like a herd of elephant's walking when people are above you (It's terrible, especially when they are banging around until 2 a.m.), and I would look at the air unit and see how to quiet it a bit (Yes, we could have called ya'll and I am certain you would have come over to look at it, but we chose not to bother you at night). Again, all this said, I do recommend The Heidi Motel. It is truly lovely!
