I had given Stater Bros. 5 stars solely based on their bakery. In 2022 we discovered their Old Fashioned Sliced Sourdough Round that has the right texture, a true sourdough flavor and a tasty bubbly crust, and their Buttermilk Biscuits which are perfectly doughy 🍞
I had to update my review based on their lack of customer service. We only had a couple of items and as we walked up to check out, one by one the express lanes turned off their lights and closed. We got in a regular line behind a few other people in frustration, but kept an eye out for any other checkout lanes opening. At one point it appeared the express lane was reopening because 3 employees with blue shirts were standing there. But apparently, the checkers and box help all wear blue shirts now so there's no telling them apart. As the lines grew longer a checker finally opened up, but he pulled from the back of the line, not us nor the people behind us.
The days of "no games, no gimmicks" under Jack Brown are long gone, with special digital deals instead of just everyday low prices. Also, although we always bring our own canvas shopping bags, twice now we've been charged for plastic bags. Are Stater Bros. checkers automatically charging for bags unless customers catch it?
To this location I previously uploaded pics from March 2020 showing the unprecedented essentials demand due to COVID19. There could continuing supply and labor shortages since the COVID pandemic began. But prior to COVID19, it was fairly common for Stater Bros to be out of at least one of the ad items we'd come in for.
Stater Bros offers the Full Circle environmentally-friendly brand which is often organic 👍 Unfortunately I haven't seen Full Circle recycled paper products since the COVID shortages. ♻
Stater's deli area carries the appropriately named Bitchin Sauce, made from almonds! We've tried the amazingly delicious vegan spinach artichoke dip by this same brand, which we hope Stater's will consider...
Read moreI’m feeling really uncomfortable about this situation. I don’t know if it was intentionally or if it was genuinely to be helpful. This morning on my way to work I stopped by to get some soups for lunch; it was a bit cold so I had my hoodie on. I went in knowing what I was looking for but because I’m not from the area I’m not familiar with the isles. As soon as I walked in first thing I was looking for was a hand basket I couldn’t find it I was a bit in a rush so I moved on. Security looked at me didn’t think anything of it so I just continued, as soon as I go down about two isles I find one of the items I was looking for , I continue in to look for the second item and a young lady walks up to me and asks me if I’m looking for something (I was), I let her know what that item is and she leads me to it and walks back to where she came from. Not even 5 mins pass and a second lady walks up to ask me what I’m looking for again she leads me to another isle and walks back to her register. I paid and left feeling uneasy knowing people were watching me. I have never stolen in my life, I do not look like a crack head, and I’m 100% not a threat. Im a young girl who can get knock off her feet in one push. I’m never going there again as much as I’m trying to not let this get to me, it made me extremely uncomfortable. Losing a business from one person is nothing to a company this big so writing this wasn’t to make you care about losing business but to make sure not to judge people right off the bat. I was...
Read moreSeem to be higher priced items then other neighboring groceries in same city. I was extremely not pleased with cashier staff In their approach in making me feel like I wasn't fast enough for this employee was taking over my way of placing items on the check out table. This individual made my granddaughter that is challenged with society already frighten on his approaching technique running up on her grabbing my items from the cart without showing patience. I understand that staff r in a hurry, yet should be respectful of the customer's. I also choose to place my items as frozen, fresh , meats, and then general none perishable items at the rear. As They r bagged in a manageable manor in bags is easier to bag in order of cold vs something that doesn't need to perish driving home. I carry cold containers in my car and rather have organization easily ready available for quick placement from the grocery bags to my containers. Plus do to my being wheelchair bond it is easier and less stress for me. The young hypertensive employee felt by my asking to allow my granddaughter and myself to divide my items in above way became angry instead of just having patience. We weren't slow just concerned on how I choose to place my groceries for my needs. I apologized to both cashier and this employee and explained why I have a format of my own and remains my reasoning for better control of my groceries . GOD BLESS EVERY EMPLOYEE THAT R WORKING HARD and for understanding the patron as...
