Typically, I'm picky when it comes to getting massages from people I don't know. I'm a massage therapist and I want to be sure I don't get a so-so massage. However during a recent trip to Vegas, my shoulders were killing me and I was about to embark on a 7hr. drive back to California. I walked into this Hand and Stone location and the service was AMAZING! Dominique at the front desk was friendly, welcoming and provided top-notch customer service. The in-store forms are easy to fill out and it only took me about 10 minutes to complete (and thats with me being THOROUGH). My service provider that day was Charles. Now lets talk about this gem of a therapist. Charles carefully listened to my problem areas and took into consideration the fact that I'm not as tolerant of heavy pressure as I'd like to be. He started the session by warming up my muscles (something I'm shocked to see many therapists skipping nowadays) and getting enough circulation in the area to easily access deeper muscle layers without causing me to start "guarding" or tensing up. He checked in with me a couple of times during the session to make sure the pressure was to my comfort level and adjusted as needed (some parts like my traps can handle more pressure unlike my pecs). The whole session was very calming and I felt like I didn't have to be as mentally present, I could just unplug for a bit which is something I'm not used to doing. Charles has excellent draping technique and provided a safe atmosphere for me which I appreciate so much. I'll definitely be back to see him next time I'm in town!
*There's a review below mine somewhere from a "Cali" and lemme just say, common sense isn't that common it seems but that may be because I'm from the industry. The "hour" sessions are 50min hands on, thats a given. You have about 5 min to consult with your service provider (yes, I understand they get an OVERVIEW about you from the in-store forms) but this time is critical for MT's to get a detailed understanding of how they can best support you in your pain management + if there's a detail you may have missed in the forms that you mention to them it may change the approach they take in the massage (certain health concerns, possible contraindications, session modifications, etc). They won't get all of that from your forms, they get that from YOU. Then you have about 5 min to get redressed and have a post-chat consult with your MT so they can share their observations and create an agenda for your next session. My service provider (Charles) did this with me and the whole session...
Read moreIt has been a few weeks but I wanted to make sure they received an exceptional review.
I was gifted a massage by a friend who recommended them. I'm typically a particular person when it comes to massages in what I need and the overall experience. This was of course my first time so I was slightly concerned about what to expect.
From the moment I walked in the doors the staff were some of the best people. They made me feel instantly comfortable and I had a great conversation as I was waiting for the massage therapist to finish a current appointment. Wait time was reasonable and the intake process with paperwork was easy.
I want to personally thank front desk associate, Lynn and the Spa Manager, Melissa. Customer service is essential and they went above and beyond. Thank you both for your kindness and personal attention.
Kendra was my Massage Therapist and she was exceptional. I prefer deep tissue and she made the entire experience comfortable and relaxing from beginning to end. Any adjustments or considerations were addressed before the massage as well as during. She took care to ensure I was comfortable and receiving what I needed throughout.
I highly recommend Hand and Stone especially at this location. Thank you again to the staff for an incredible experience. I will be returning when I'm...
Read moreI did not like the missed guided time for service. I walked in with my cousin and we made an appt for 21 Jan 24 for 1200pm. We were 10 mins late and when we got there we had to sign a document from a pad that took approximately 10 mins to fill out. My cousin went first and then I went to meet my massager. Once I entered the room, he explained that there was not enough time to do the hot stones because there were only 20 mins remaining. I went to the front desk and the front desk clerk said yes because I was 10 minutes late it was adjusted to the remaining time and he had another client. I stated that I was not going to pay 99 dollars for 20 mins. I realized that they had my credit card and the only option was to pay the cancel fee. Basically I paid this company, 39 dollars but received no service. What is most interesting is that at no time did the clerk explain to us that we lost time for filling out their needed documents and the time was going towards our massage time. She was so pleasant when she asked me to do the 20 mins and except the 99 dollar fee... "AT LEAST YOU WILL GET SOMETHING OUT OF IT". Bad business to hard...
