I went in two days ago to repair a black screen on my Samsung galaxy S7. My phone was still receiving text messages and phone calls when I went in. I spoke with Josh who was polite and told me the screen repair would cost $189. He asked for half down and said my phone could be repaired as early as the next day. I left my phone with them. I asked for an email notifying me that my phone was repaired. He said they could do that.
The next day I had not received an email but getting anxiety without my phone I went in around 4pm. Apparently my phone had been repaired since 11am. Okay, no big deal.
I get my phone and turn it on. It had been reset, a hard reset. I had lost all my photos and data saved to my phone. The phone also only had 5%. Not only had my phone been reset but they didn't even bother to give it back to me with a decent charge. $200 to replace a screen, the least they could do is charge it.
I spoke with an old white guy in the stores and he said sometimes when the screen is replaced the phone resets. Josh never told me there was a chance of that. The old man was ready to give me a discount for losing all my valuable photos but then the contacts in my phone started to load. He said the phone might take a while and my pictures might load. He said to come back in the next day if they don't.
I came back and the guy started giving me attitude right away. Telling me since the screen was black that there was no way to determine the state of the phone when they got it. Every time I tried to speak he would constantly interrupt me, he avoided answering any questions. I snapped on him and told him to stop interrupting me. He kept saying it wasn't their fault and they can't do anything about it. He told me two days ago that sometimes when they replace the screen the phone resets!! So I started interrupting him and avoiding answering his questions. He got so mad at me. Of course! It sucks to be treated the way he treated me. Of course he didn't like it! He went from offering to take responsibility right in the beginning the first day I went to pickup to denying anything was their fault when he told me to come back in if I didn't get my photos back! What a scam.
Avoid this place! They got new management 6 months ago and obviously they still suck! Listen to everyone's reviews and find...
Read moreThis company was recommended by T-Mobile during my most recent purchase. Called this location to replace the back of my cracked Note 8 phone. They told me the price and that they had the part in stock for replacement.
Fast forward 30 mins and I bring the phone in and describe the issue and mention that I had the screen replaced a few months back. Employee asks if I had it done by an "authorized" Samsung agent. I told him I'm not sure if they are "authorized" or NOT but the phone functions perfectly fine. Employee tells me he's not sure of their policy and will check to see if they can repair. After a 15 min wait he tells me they're NOT able to fix the phone as it may have been previously opened by an "unauthorized" Samsung agent. (I think their marketing ploy to do a simple fix is that they're an "authorized" agent).
Issues with this business:
Employee answering the phone doesn't assess the situation properly. If the proper questions were asked I wouldn't have to make the drive and burn 1 hour of my day because the phone had a repair done by someone "unauthorized"
Store wait times are awful despite it being empty.
Employee at the store doesn't know the company policy. He had to check to see if they could or could NOT repair.
Employee doesn't know their inventory. Same employee asked me if they had the part in stock. Luckily the girl on the phone told me they did.
Employee lacks the face to face customer service skills as his diction was too informal for a business transaction. They definitely need to be polished on their policy, inventory, and business vernacular.
Overall I would take my business elsewhere. Prices appeared to be reasonable but all that goes out the window when a business does all the above wrong. Will NOT recommend to others. Will contact T Mobile store who recommended these individuals. For their sake, I hope this behavior and practice is isolated to this specific...
Read moreTook a phone in to them as requested by Google. I made an appointment but that made no difference - everyone is treated as a walk in. I was lucky there were only two people in front of me so it "only" took 20 minutes to be served. Then instead of an on the spot inspection and determination if the phone needed to be replaced - which was what Google told me - they took it and said it would be checked out and repaired in "one to two weeks". I got no receipt or tracking number so the website was hopeless to track my repair. After some communication with corporate (pretty sure this is a franchise) I got a tracking number from them after a week. There were no updates or anything until 10 days after I dropped the phone and I was told it was fixed.
Once again I had to wait, this time more like 30 minutes for my 2 minute transaction to get the phone. Once home I discovered that when I tried to set it up again the fingerprint reader was not working. Fortunately after about four hours of fiddling and following tips from Reddit I was able to get the proper firmware installed and get the fingerprint reader working again.
So big dings for not honoring appointments, poor communication, and inadequate QA on repairs.
But the staff there were courteous and polite, just overworked and missing on QA. So far after a couple of weeks my phone has been behaving - no other issues with the repair.
With hindsight I would a) try to locate a corporate owned branch, b) call ahead and ask about how busy they are with repairs, c) consider just mailing your phone direct to Google.
However the latter might involve being phoneless for a while - at least ubreakifix does offer loaner phones - although I think that's because I had a warranty repair so Google was covering it. You probably won't get the same level of phone - I was offered a Pixel 4 for my Pixel 6. But since I still had my old Pixel 3a set up I didn't...
