It took me a very, very, very long time to compose this review. Firstly, because I didn't want the young lady who waxed me to get in trouble, and secondly, because I never want to leave a review when emotions are high, especially for a small business. I'm cautious because I understand how crucial reviews are. However, the more I pondered on this experience, the more disappointed I became after the initial pain and hurt subsided.
My first visit to Uni Wax last September was amazing. It was my inaugural wax experience, and the technician, with over 10 years of experience, was not only a pro but also made me feel comfortable since she knew it was my first time. During this appointment, I waxed my legs, bikini area, and underarms. It wasn't as painful as I anticipated. The two stars I'm giving are solely because she was amazing.
Then, in February, I visited the Hoboken location. I didn't select or research the technicians; I assumed they'd all be as amazing as my first experience. I booked a bikini and underarm wax. Upon arrival, the greeting wasn't overly warm, but I didn't mind, understanding that people have bad days. However, I distinctly remember being struck by the absence of smiles. When asked who I booked with, I replied that I booked with anyone. A young girl then took me to the back.
She seemed very nervous. She began with my underarms, and it was evident she didn't quite know what she was doing — very timid movements. Trying to make small talk, I asked her how long she'd been there. She replied less than a month, and I was surprised, asking where she was before. She had just graduated from school. I then inquired how many clients she had seen, to which she replied I was her second customer. I considered leaving immediately, especially when I found the underarm waxing more painful than I anticipated. However, I understood that people need experience to grow.
That was a mistake. When we reached the bikini area, I experienced the most excruciating pain I've ever felt since giving birth. It was so intense; I felt like I was going to pass out. It was incredibly traumatic, and I believe the technician was traumatized as well. She had no idea what she was doing, and I'm sure the other technicians heard my cries. What bothered me the most was that the team knew she lacked experience and still assigned her to take care of a customer. I don't blame her; I blame the team for not adequately training her. Even if they didn't know it was only my second time waxing, why assign an untrained technician to perform a bikini wax? I left, smiling through the pain, paid, tipped, and went home.
To make matters worse, I ended up with the largest ingrown hair I've ever had near the entrance of my genital area. I couldn't sit down properly for a week; it was the size of a flipping cherry. That's why I know those few weeks were not a good time to write a review.

With that said, I am disappointed with the customer service I have received from the front desk worker at this location. As a loyal customer who has been frequenting Uni K Hoboken for a little over three years, I am deeply concerned about the quality of service provided by the front desk worker.
On several occasions, I have experienced issues directly related to this individual. She has made multiple errors on my account, which have caused unnecessary inconvenience and frustration. Moreover, her manner of communication is far from professional. She has interrupted me while I am speaking, displaying a lack of respect and courtesy that is expected in a customer-facing role.
The overall quality of service she provides does not meet the standards I have come to expect from Uni K Hoboken. I find this level of service unacceptable.
All customers should be treated with respect and provided with a high standard of service. I hope that necessary actions will be taken to improve the service quality.

Last Saturday, I was seen for three waxing services. For the most part, the wax job was performed well. She missed a few spots.
Upon completing the services, I went to the front to pay my balance. The three waxing services that I just completed were outlined on the screen. After paying for the service, I realized that the receptionist had the account of another guest’s account populates, not my own. I immediately brought this to her attention because my points were not attached to guest’s account and that person received an email with the last four digits of my card number. I asked to speak to a manager, and the receptionist informed me that the manager was off for the day. The wax technician overheard the conversation and continuously advocated for her to call the manager, considering that the error was done on their behalf. I then asked the receptionist to provide me with a receipt showing that I had a transaction, since all of my information was now linked to someone else’s account. She then provided me with a receipt of another guest and not my own. She informed me that the manager would give me a call on Sunday or Monday the latest. It is now Tuesday and I have not heard from anyone regarding the errors that took place on Saturday. As a loyal Uni K Wax guest, I am frustrated and displeased with the way that the Uni K Wax Hoboken location has handled the situation, and as a result, I had to contact corporate, and I hope that they are able to not only resolve this issue, but compensate me for the negligence.

I made an online appt and worked the overnight shift, I was too tired to make it to my 2pm appt and I called at 1230pm and asked if I can please change it for 5pm , they had no problems whatsoever and changed my time. I made it before 5pm and was welcomed by the front desk receptionist. I filled out my paperwork and was told who my tech would be (Deepa😍). At 5:15pm I was told she was almost done and they apologized to me which was cool because I made last minute changes anyway. Finally Deepa called my name and walked me into one of the many rooms, so far their nice, its clean, and the room was very clean and nothing looked a mess. She gave me an antibacterial wipe and told me it's a pre cleanse and to undress. They have a cool cabinet for all your clothes and shoes. 2 minutes later she knocked and was ready. She thoroughly explained the organic products and locations as she turned on a fan that aimed right at my Nanykatt 😻😻 (felt amazing) she began to wax away , placed an ice pack before moving to my backside which felt AMAZINGGGGG. She took less then 20 minutes and it was less painful then any other Brazilian I've ever gotten. She sprayed me with some antibacterial wash and removed the stubborn hairs , I felt so FRESSSHH and so Cleeeeaan...😂. To say the least, I have found my new Brazilian wax home!! Deepa is AMAZING!! for those of us who have to go from place to place to find our wax person, UNI K will not disappoint. Thanks again UNI K and Deepa....I'll be back...
