Aloha!
If you are looking to rent surf board(s), learn to surf, want your kids to learn to surf, come to Dukes Lagoon.
Not only are Chris and Misa great people and super great to work with, offer reasonable pricing, they truly are pros on teaching others how to surf, and they know how to get you up very quickly at one of the best spots on Waikiki.
I have been coming to Waikiki and the Ilikai since the 70's and have seen a ton of outfits that rent surf boards and equipment and teach lessons. Chris and Misa will keep you and your family safe and teach you the proper way to learn to surf, paddle, and to get up. All my kids, nephews, and nieces have learned how to surf from them and their crew. Another note: their crew are true legends and have been surfing these sports for several decades. They will take the time to ensure you are taken care of and have a great experience. They will keep you and your family safe out there, actually teach you how to surf, you will get up! And here is the bonus. Chris will get a ton of photos of you and your loved ones riding waves with the iconic Diamondhead in the back ground.
There are other outfits on Waikiki. They are fine. If you want a much better experience, walk down the beach, walk around the Hilton Lagoon up the ramp into the Ilikai lobby. They are right there. You can also rent stand-up paddle boards, boogie boards, chairs, snorkel equipment. They got it all. They have a ton of surf boards, I rent there and try new boards every day each time I come visit.
This is the place to come if you are looking to surf...
Read moreIf you are staying at or around the Ilikai hotel you have to do yourself a favor and rent all your beach items from here. Chris and Misa were so incredibly helpful to us first timers to Hawaii. From the second we walked in so confused on what to do and where to start Chis had our backs. We called around and other places didn't answer the phone, didn't call back, or didn't have what we were looking for. Some places had chairs and umbrellas, others had just snorkel equipment, and others had just surf boards. Chris and Misa had it all. They set us up with chairs, an umbrella, a wagon to haul all our gear, snorkel equipment, life vest, and even a cooler that we wanted but he didn't have. He went and got us one and we picked it up the next morning. While talking to us I can tell Chris saw that we were so overwhelmed with the island. He took us outside and pointed out some great beaches around our hotel and some amazing restaurants in the area (harbor pub and chart house). He definite advocate for the island and a truly genuine person that goes out of his way to help you. I can't thank Chris enough for his advice and all the items he provided us for our 10 days here in Oahu. If you have the pleasure of meeting Chris and Misa it will change your trip for the...
