This place isn't as crowded as Waikiki Beach, and the waves are gentle, making it easy for children to play. Today, the wind was a bit strong, but with occasional clouds, it wasn't too hot even without a parasol, making it comfortable.😊 04/28/2024 Today was clear and windless, making it perfect for tanning, so we relaxed at the beach. As a result, we got a nice tan.🌞 05/12/2024 Today, we enjoyed snorkeling at the southern end of Kahanamoku Beach, next to the Hilton Lagoon. The waves were high, and there were several surfers beyond the breakwater. Inside the breakwater, there were fewer people, and when we swam to the edge, we saw colorful fish and the water was relatively clear. The sandy beach is clean, but it quickly becomes rocky. From the grassy area to the high water mark in the sand is about 160 feet. There is a dock, but not open to the public.
Arriving just before sunset, we saw many people sitting to watch the gorgeous sunset at 6pm. A few sailboats were out at sea and in the distant was a multilevel cruise ship that cut across the fiery orange half ball of the setting sun dropping into the ocean. Darkness descended and night brought out people playing with illuminated sling shot devices that floated to earth shining in the evening air.
By this time, the majority of beach goers had departed. It was pleasant evening for us but we were lucky to have found a parking spot on this week...

They keep the beach decently clean, the water is nice and warm, the view of the sunset is spectacular and provides a great silhouette of people in the background if you like photography. The beach also has the Hilton lagoon if you want to swim in a more sheltered area. You can get submarine tours right on the beach. Because the beach is surrounded by a bunch of hotels. It tends to get a lot of foot traffic. So if you're looking for a place that is less crowded, this might not be...
