We’ve been vacationing yearly at Hawaiian Village for 5 years now (except one year 2020) and every time we come to fresco’s and sometimes even go twice. On our last trip, we stayed at the Outrigger Reef due to the striking but still wanted to go to Fresco’s. This experience was unfortunately so bad we might have to let go of one of our favorites. My sister lives on the island now and her boyfriend drove all of us to dinner. We had a reservation at 8pm. We were seated immediately which was lovely but from the moment our waiter, Michael, came to our table, he looked like he could not be any more inconvenienced by our presence. We hadn’t even opened the menu and he was asking if we wanted to put our orders in. I asked for a couple of minutes to look at the menu and that we were also waiting for my sisters boyfriend as he was parking the car. At about 8:15, my sisters boyfriend joined us since he had some trouble with the parking (due to the strike) and as soon as he sat down, the waiter came back and asked for our order. I said he just got here so like 3 minutes so he can look at the menu and before I was even done talking, the waiter so rudely turned around and walked away. After that, he did not come to our table for 15 MINUTES. It felt like a punishment for asking for a couple more minutes. Finally he came back and his attitude, demeanor and tone was so rude we truly considered getting up and leaving. This attitude from our waiter continued throughout the rest of our meal. I don’t know if he was having an off day or was upset we were seated in his section. We still tipped at least $30 but that was mostly for all the other staff if it was up to us the waiter would not have gotten a penny. This was by far the worst service and experience we have had at this restaurant. Our yearly favorite just got ruined. Another thing, we had requested a birthday celebration and it was not even acknowledged. The food was amazing but the service was possibly the worst we’ve ever had anywhere. Truly not sure if we will be back which...
Read moreI had to take one star off (wish I could give 4 1/2 stars) as my husband and son said their chicken parm was tasty but chewy. They felt steak knives would have been helpful as it was difficult to cut. That would not deter us from returning (could order something different from the extensive menu). Also, my husband ordered bruschetta appetizer assuming it was typical bruschetta. Had he read the menu he would have seen it was a trio- Truffle Mushroom, Tomato & Burrata, Ricotta, Honey, Prosciutto Di Parma and Thyme. Although it wasn’t as expected it was very good. Prices were middle of the road - not bad for a resort. Portions were generous. I chose an Italian restaurant because I knew my family was tired of steak or seafood. I ended up enjoying the most. My Spaghetti Alla Pescatora was delicious - ordered with red sauce and asked if they could make it a little spicy. It was perfect. Included shrimp, scallops, muscles, calamari, and catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi. I rarely order dessert but my husband who never eats it suggested we check the menu. I was prepared to say no until our waiter mentioned the chocolate creme brûlée. It was amazing. Even my husband and son tasted and agreed as our amazing server brought extra spoons. The restaurant is located upstairs (above Round Table Pizza). Seating on outside patio available, inside is larger than it looks, spacious with nice booths and tables. Much m nicer inside than expected. We sat at a table near window - enough of a breeze to be perfect. Comfortable, lovely atmosphere, Our server Michael was very nice, professional, attentive. Food and drinks came quickly but we never...
Read moreI don’t usually write negative reviews for restaurants because I know how subjective they can be, but our experience with a server named Tammy was so remarkably poor that I felt obligated to speak up, especially after seeing others call her out by name.
We didn’t have a reservation, just joined the waitlist and were seated after 15 minutes. No issue there. But once we sat down, we waited another 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Tammy finally showed up, offered a half-hearted “sorry, it’s busy,” and took our full order.
The food came quickly, but one dish was wrong — chicken instead of shrimp. I can’t eat chicken for religious reasons. It turns out Tammy had written the order down correctly but submitted it incorrectly. Another server stepped in, apologized, and reordered it for me.
Tammy checked in twice with a casual “everything okay?” even though it clearly wasn’t, and she never owned the mistake. I had to take my corrected meal to go since my family had already finished eating.
Then came the final insult: a bill with an automatic 20 percent gratuity. I said I wasn’t paying it. When I explained why — late service, wrong order, no apology — she removed it, then snidely said, “If you want faster service, maybe make a reservation next time.”
Blaming the customer, refusing to take responsibility, and showing zero self-awareness is enough to guarantee I won’t be back. Tammy made...
