Update 04/20/2024: Great spot to watch the sunset, relax, or play volleyball. We came mostly to sunbathe and watch sunsets. There's also a drink bar, Koa Oasis Booze Shack, serving some great drinks and has been around for 20 years. The service is always awesome, and the line moves quickly.

The sunsets are stunning, and this beach is less crowded than Waikiki. The water was cool and mostly shallow. Great for all ages. There's also a boardwalk for people watching and easy access to other areas as well as workout sessions.

On Friday nights, the Hilton Hawaiian Village puts on a fireworks show around 7:45pm, and you can view the show from Fort Derussy Beach as well as Kahanamonku Beach.

Fort DeRussy Beach Park was a fantastic spot to unwind during our trip. The park offers plenty of space, making it easy to find a quiet spot to relax, and we felt very safe throughout our time there. We walked and sunbathed here almost every day—it was the perfect place to escape the crowds. The area was consistently clean, and the large grassy space was ideal for lounging or picnicking. Plus, there’s a little bar nearby where we could grab refreshing Mai Tais, adding to the overall laid-back vibe. It’s a great spot for both relaxation and enjoying the natural beauty of Waikīkī. Would definitely...

I went to this beach a couple times when I didn’t have a rental car so couldn’t go too far from the condo. A lot better than Waikiki beach, less crowded except Fridays for the fireworks (+ DJ)! I felt a lot more comfortable leaving my belongings when going in the water. The only downside is that there’s a lot of small rocks mixed with the sand in the water and there are medium sized rocks that you can step on here and there. The water is nice, not always clear but compared to the other beaches around that area...
