Honest review of The Twin Fin Hotel in Waikiki Beach 🌺🌴 I stayed at this vibrant beachfront hotel right across from Waikiki Beach, and here’s everything you need to know: location, price, vibe, and if it’s really worth the stay. Perfect for solo travelers, couples, or anyone wanting ocean views without the luxury price tag. Would you stay here? Drop your questions below! Planning a Hawaii trip? Where do I begin? We stayed here for the first half of our vacation for my best friend’s birthday. We regret it so badly. We threw half of our vacation away staying here. This place is filthy. There isn’t an ice machine on every floor, the elevator situation is ridiculous, the walls are so paper thin you get to wake up to your neighbor puking their guts up, most of the TV stations are blocked (you can’t even stream content from your own devices), and the best part… the disgusting tub that won’t drain. Basically you’re standing in your own filthy water in the shower past your ankles. I asked them in the little store please hold the banana bread that was coming in next shipment on Saturday. I trusted them they knew what banana bread was, but they sold me guava bread. If you want your car it’s a 15 minute wait. You can’t self park so you’re forced to use valet at $52 a night. Eddie is about the rudest valet person I’ve ever met. Every encounter was horrible. I asked him where to get free beach rental stuff and he replied under his breath so low I couldn’t hardly hear him. I asked him two times and I got the same low answer. Finally when I figured it out he’s sending me to get beach things a 4:45pm clearly knowing it closes at 5pm. Nothing but dirty looks the whole time. Michael (another valet person) on the other hand was completely a 180. Beyond perfect! We told him how terrible Eddie is with us, and no shock…it’s been said MANY times before. In fact the other valet that heard the conversation also chimed in yeah, that’s Eddie. They clearly know Eddie is an issue. I told the supervisor and she seemed like she understood and was genuinely sorry. I looked back after I told her she she’s patting him on the shoulder saying it’s okay. Bottom line, avoid this place like the plague. If I could stay free I’d turn it down no hesitation. Motel 6 is better. I’m at the Outrigger now and it’s paradise. This is the true Hawaiian experience. 180 in difference. They make you feel warm & welcome from the second you walk in. And don’t bother with your form reply like you did the others. This place is horrible. In no way did I see you say you’ll reach out to any of us and make it better. You have our money, so you’re content. Mahalo🙄

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. Here are some points to consider before booking: Negatives: 1. Lack of Transparency: The photos on Expedia did not match the reality. The room we stayed at was not what we expected when we booked leading to a disappointing first impression, the rooms were outdated. However, after a conversation with reception, they moved us to another room, which has the amenities detailed in the room we have originally booked. 2. Rude Staff: Working in the hospitality industry requires a certain level of professionalism, which was lacking here, not all of them but some. One of the night shift receptionists was particularly rude, forgetting the importance of being aware of her tone of voice and body language when interacting with customers. However, a receptionist at night named Abcdee was nice, and we appreciate her having her name tag on as some of them do not? which again, shows professionalism. 3. Inefficient Elevator System: The elevator system was cumbersome and time-consuming, detracting from the overall convenience of the stay. We saw some customers struggling to use it, especially the geriatrics and have to teach them how to work the system. 4. Bathroom Leak: There was a leak in our bathroom ceiling. Imagine sitting on the toilet and having some form of liquid drip on your head, which we hoped was just water. 5. Stained Sheets: Although the sheets appeared to be washed and changed, as it should, some had noticeable stains. It’s worth checking them upon arrival just to be sure. 6. Slippery Tubs: The tubs lacked non-slip mats, which posed a safety risk. Positives: 1. Excellent Location: The hotel’s location is very convenient, providing easy access to local attractions, restaurants, and amenities. It’s a 3 min walk from the beach. 2. Water Refilling Stations: The availability of water refilling stations was a great eco-friendly feature. 3. Recyclable Water Bottles: The infinitely recyclable water bottles provided in the rooms were a nice touch and aligned with sustainable practices.

I wish this hotel was named The Twin Fin Motel instead of The Twin Fin Hotel. It feels like a motel with 23 floors in the heart of Waikiki. Let me break down the cons and pros of our stay here considering they call this as a 4 star hotel and we are paying premium price. Cons: - Paint and power sockets peeling off in the rooms and hallways - Smallest room size where space to move around is very limited - No robes or slippers - smallest bathroom with very little space to stand and only one light in the sink for the entire bathroom - No table or chair to sit and enjoy your tablet or computer. You get only a small bench which is not seatable. - Wardrobe is outdated. - No clock - Valet service is clogged and you have to wait for long time even when you pay for valet - The elevators are outdated and don't work most of the time showing "Please try again later". - No ice machines in each floor. You have to go to other floors. - Noisy hallways and rocking doors which wake you up when adjacent rooms close their doors. - They told that we get free beach rentals at Beach Candy which is included as part of the resort fees we pay, but when we get there, they don't have stock at 9 AM in the morning. For the resort amenity fee we pay, this hotel could reserve for us with Beach Candy upon our request so that we get value for money. - The property is outdated and needs new infrastructure Pros: - Oceanfront view rooms - Very close to the beach across the street - The hotel is at the end of Waikiki area, so you can get clear beach views. - There was always a Aloha smile in the faces of valet, front desk and housekeepers - Rooms were kept clean - Using their Guestcast, you can stream your content from your favorite app into the TV. So you don't have to miss your favorite shows from Nextflix, Hulu, YouTube or any other subscriptions. - Customer Service via text was awesome and they were attentive Definitely, for the room rate, resort fee and valet charge, this property doesn't seem to be a 4 star hotel.
