Fizz Nail Lounge — Attraction in Houston

Easily the worst nail shop experience I have ever had in my life. This week was my first time ever at this shop. It is located .5 miles away from my boyfriend’s house so I decided to try it out. I went there for a fill in and a gel pedicure. Fill in was mediocre. I was left with air bubbles in some of the paint on a couple nails which left an unsmooth and rocky looking finish.However, the real issue was my pedicure. The toes on my right foot were completely missing the top clear coat of gel polish. So, I have shiny freshly painted toes on my left and dull matte colored toes on my right. Now that, I couldn’t let go, it had to be fixed. I returned to the shop a couple days later. I made my complaints about my toes, a couple workers examined my toes and they were fixed. As I was leaving, I mentioned that I tipped over 30% for my services and I have wasted an extra hour of my week addressing this issue. (I’m a 29 year old black female attorney. It’s 5 days before Christmas. Of course, I’m extremely busy.) I suggested refunding the tip, which clearly was not deserved, or issuing a gift card for the tip amount. Reasonable. The receptionist called the owner Marie Nguyen and explained the issue. Marie Nguyen declined my suggested compensation. And I left the nail shop. It is the holiday season, times are hard, I get it. This little gem is right next to Grotto's and right across the street from Hotel Derek. I've been to Fizz more than a handful of times and they definitely do not disappoint! Fizz is one of the very few places that I know that actually offers DIP GEL, and they're great at it. I have a preference of just regular gel but that's only imo. Upon entering you're greeted by a receptionist who's sweet and accommodating. They seat you and offer you drinks, including the ones that are offered after 5 o'clock! ;D I always get the milk and cookies manicure with gel polish add on, something about the exfoliation and then rinsing it with REAL milk just makes me feel so luxurious sometimes. "TREAT YO' SELF!" My favorite pedicure is the HOT ASH pedi, have your tech repeat that a few times really fast and you'll get the joke. It comes with a tea soak with flowers, a hydrating clay mask, hot stones, paraffin, and a little longer massage. I mean what else could you include into your pedi?! I find it super relaxing especially with the aroma given. They really offer quality work here, based on the photos given, I think everyone here is great but if you ask me I'd go to Chloe and Vivian you can count on them for a...

I came to get the gel x nails for a trip i am going on... The way these nails came out….. it was terrible! I like short nails and usually get them square round. When the lady cut them I asked her to cut them a little shorter but said she will file them for them to be shorter. They were still too long for my liking. And there was no shape to them. Just straight and squared. They were also very bubbly. I’m not sure if gel x the nail is not suppose to be filed down or grinded down but she just applied, cut, semi-filed and then applied the polish. I was just not pleased at all. I left for 30 mins and came back and asked if she could please make them shorter which she tried to do but really just rounded them. As you can see in the pictures I provided. They look like I bought the nails from the store and just put them on. Don’t look natural at all! I ended up going to the place I normally go to and should have gone but I just had to try gel x.
