We lived in Hanover Post Oak for over a year. We rented a 2-bedroom apartment in the 19th floor, facing Whole Foods. The building is fantastic and the location is superb. Amenities are outstanding too and we regret being unable to enjoy them as a result of the pandemic. Even better than the building are the people working there. I can only speak good things about the guys at the Front Desk and Maintenance, specially Alex, who are the embodiment of service. We did not use the Valet Parking but our guests did and they were also always kind and willing to help. In spite of the many good ones, there are several areas of opportunity for Hanover, which we communicated to the Management during our stay. Here are the main ones: The pandemic represented a challenge for Hanover: people simply did not respect the rules that Management defined and they were unable to enforce them. Basic things like avoiding gatherings in the common areas, using face mask, etc were usual points of concern. In fact, we suffered an episode of xenophobia when we asked a person in the 10th floor not to take the elevator with us (it was already at the full capacity of 3 people defined by Management), he forced his way in anyway (we left the elevator with our baby girl) while inviting us to go back to our country, not precisely in a polite way. Smoking restriction in the building was another big problem. Management finds it hard to enforce it, even though there are penalties expressly included in the tenancy contracts. It is not uncommon to smell tobacco (and other smells) in the corridors. In the case of our apartment, a strong smell came through the wall into our baby’s room, which made us complain for several months until the issue stopped (we were said the neighbor left the property, which could be confirmed by the fact we stopped hearing his shouting and swearing). Waste management is another issue. Our apartment was next to the waste room. People simply did not respect the rules and Management failed to enforce them too. Food waste was left outside, generating usual hygiene issues. Many times I had to remind Management to clean the garbage room as we were disturbed by smells. Not to mention an opportunity in which dog poo was found in the corridor… We left Hanover, they charged us for the repairs of 3 kitchen doors: we left the child protection attached to them (in good condition, no damage) and they simply pull them away to remove them, damaging the furniture themselves but charging us for the damage. Summarizing, Hanover is fine, a wonderful building with great people working there and a fantastic location, but with some relevant issues that need to...
Read moreMy wife, my dog and I moved into Hanover Post Oak at end of February. If you read this far, my advice is not to hesitate, sign the lease and move in today.
If you need more information, every time I’ve opened a maintenance request in the app, the maintenance guy is out and has it fixed within 24hours if not sooner.
I cannot walk past concierge or the office staff without someone shouting out to say hi or ask if everything’s ok.
The apartment, is stunning. The appliances are great. The apartment door is heavy A F, a sign of awesome quality.
Three months in I’m tremendously impressed by the personable service of the team and the upkeep of the property.
The elevators work all the time. Coming from a local high rise recently, this is a surprisingly luxurious feature.
There’s 3-4 resident events per month.
It’s worth the money.
What’s clear here is the management company, Hanover, are consistently on top of everything, from replacing a dead palm tree at the pool to communicating consistently about any issues at the property and subsequently advising when said issues will be resolved…. And shockingly, they are fixed when they say they will be.
You’re paying to live here, but it’s also stunning, maintenance do everything. It’s a 2 min walk to restaurants and a 3 min walk to Whole Foods on post oak. It’s such an amazing place to live.
Finally some bad bits, the pool area is incredible, but I’m Scottish, which means I expect 15 hours a day of sunshine where I cook my pale white chest in the Texas sun and thank the lord for the privilege… however; after 3pm the sun at the pool is in the shade until sunset. Most may like this, as a sun loving Scottish bloke, I don’t.
I’d also love to see a little coffee station in the social and public areas? But otherwise amenities are beyond what you can imagine.
In all, I’d highly recommend Hanover post oak! The views are amazing, the staff are exceptional, the maintenance team are rockstars, but the pool isn’t a furnace so… sad face.
Move here, you will...
Read moreOnly Ali whom is professional and reliable, and you could trust. The others? Sorry the managers are totally unreliable. If you lived here, you would have many bad surprising experience: like losing your dry cleaning. But no matter how anxious you were, how did you request the managers' help? They never do their jobs unless you push them! Besides, you need to pay the 100+ service fee every month! I could pay for the maintenance team, the valet parking team, but really hate to pay for the managers! Update: The manager gave me a comment on Yelp. But even herself, is one of the managers who ignored my request. My three precious shirts have been missing over 2 weeks until now!
I replied her : "I know you, and even you, ignored my request too. My Email for this missing laundry issue to you and Taylor was on 12/22/2018, 2:23PM. Until now, 1/5/2019, no one replied me even a word!
However, during my trip out of the US between 12/23 and 1/1, none of the manager followed my request! I never got any feedback! I've to contact Tide company for my three precious missing shirts again, by myself.
Could you image how many things could happen during those 10 more days? I left this thing to you, because you are my last hope for my precious clothes, but what did you do? As supervisors, why didn't you contact Tide company as the memo I've written to you? I attached the picture of my memo to Taylor and you, so even the memo was missing, you still have all the information you need to do this job. Why didn't you follow the request of your residents? Why did you just leave the problem there and do nothing?
You could check your Email now and see the pictures of the memo I had left to you, on which you could have all the information. I think as a resident, I had done my job well. Anyway, your actions were really disappointing and...
