Prices and selection can be matched at most places like Target and Walmart. Quality is suspect. Lots of cheap jewelry places popped up. The indoor shops are a bit better than the ones outside.
Lots of cheap toys and pirated videos and games. Used to be a great place for South/Central American or Mexican products at decent prices, but no more. Fruits and vegetables costs more than Kroger or Randall's.

I like los paleteros that sell snow cones, freshly cold cuts of fruit, and natural popsicles (lemon-lime is my favorite).
