I am not sure what in the world was going on, but if you have ever seen the movie I Am Legend with Will Smith⦠I swear when you walk through this mall this is exactly what it feels like. It was a ghost town. There were a few stores open in the mall, but maybe just one person in them, and that was the employee. There was nobody walking in the mall. We walked through the store Crazy Boss to go into the mall, and we went over to the outlet area which was an old Dillard's. It was packed with all kinds of clothes and things, not necessarily the best prices either, but there was nobody walking around in the store. However, when when my family and I exited the store, pulling a wagon with my one year old in it, a security guard or whatever (loss prevention person) in regular clothing stopped us and asked if we paid for that wagon. My husband was annoyed, but he politely said, "Sir, this is our PERSONAL wagon... please go check your cameras if need be... but we toted our daughter in it upon entering, complete with her Moana blanket, diaper bag and toys, and here we are exiting. The man took a quick look from a distance and said, "Oh okay I see I see. Sorry." Maybe that's the most excitement he's gotten for a while. Imagine walking into an unpopular mall on a gloomy overcast Sunday, an hour before the entire mall opens⦠that's what it looks like in the mall. Desolate. This year, my wife gave me a Dillard's card with $200 on it. Off we go, me and my son reach the mall and follow the signs to Dillard's Outlet. We go nuts on the low prices and gather a heap of clothes, especially my son.
My stuff totals $75 roughly and my son's pile brings the total to over $400.
He pulls a slew of it off to the side and now the total is $235. Okay, cool, here is a Dillard's gift card for $200 and my Dillard's card for the balance.
"We don't take those."
"We're not Dillard's, we're, The Outlet".
Beware, the mall road signs have not been changed. The inventory...
