I reserved this motel months ago thru a 3rd party service. When I pulled in, I found out the name had changed from Fairbridge to BlissPoint. I had read other reviews and knew the type of place I was reserving, but I was unknowingly in town over Indy 500 weekend and that was driving the prices of all hotels up, and I had a budget. I just needed a place to sleep since I was planning to be out during the days, so I thought this would work fine.
Upon check-in, I wasn't treated rudely, but there wasn't much friendliness. I made my way to the 3rd floor room via an elevator, thankfully. The mattress was encased in a cover and appeared to be newish and bug free. Unfortunately the sheets had some type of dark debris on them that I was able to wipe away. There was only a top sheet and a top cover that was as thin as the sheet. There was no blanket on the bed or in the room. The top cover also had what appeared to be cigarette burns in it. I immediately removed it and thankfully was able to borrow a blanket from my family that I was visiting. The motel may have had blankets, but I didn't ask. I've never stayed in a place that didn't have a blanket in the room. There was a microwave in the room, but it was dirty. There was also a tissue box cover with no tissues. The space where a table or chair would normally be was empty. The vanity mirror was spattered and filthy. There were also crumbs, hairs and ants in the bathroom. They provided 3 sachets of shampoo/conditioner, but only one bar of soap, so I had to move it back and forth from the tub to the sink. They do not service the room during your stay unless you specifically ask them to.
The ice and vending on the 3rd floor did not work and directed me to visit the ice machine near the pool. Upon doing so, I noticed a dead bird, legs up, just inside the pool gate. Memorial day is traditionally when pools begin to open, but this pool area was definitely not ready for swimmers.
The doors slam hard and loud, so when folks were getting up at 5am to leave for the Indy 500, it was a bit disturbing. Otherwise, the place was quiet and almost deserted.
I think what is most disappointing is the appearance of a lack of caring about their business. It's one thing for a place to be older and rundown. It's another for it to be unclean and unkempt. There just feels like a lack of pride of ownership here.
The area seems fairly safe, and is near many restaurants. There's plenty of parking. The TV has lots...
Read moreIf ii could give negative stars I would. As you can see here it says 10 usd for pet fee, that's the online price....you get to the hotel they point at the sign on the counter and said 20. I say how can I see that from 50 miles away booking online? I called asked were they pet friendly he said yes I asked wat deposits do u charge, he said 50 refundable. Never spoke on a non refundable pet deposit. Not a big deal but when I tried to show him wat the website shows, he got crazy and told me he'd just refund my money, the policy is on the counter in the lobby, I ask how can I see that booking online from 70miles away. Rude, loud and very arrogant. Then at 10:25pm i hear verious very loud voices outside, its the desk attendant with about 6-8 of his friends in the parking lot having a grand ol time. Im only passing through for work, so i have to get up at 5am. Not knowing it was him, i had to step out my door and ask them to keep it down finally at 10:50pm, about 20 min later they dispersed. I wouldn't send my dog to stay in this filthy roach infested motel. With a place like this, one would think their customer service would be better. I'd sleep in my car before spending money here! A hotel that the mgr doesn't respect their guests, doesn't honor their website or respect quiet hrs after 10pm. If I wasn't working, I'd never in a million years stay at a place this bad. There's other hotels in the immediate area....use those, worst service and staff I've ever encountered in the continental 48. This visit was on 9/9/2024 and gets a -10 out of 5 stars. Just horrible. Attached is the online pet policy the guy refused to...
Read moreRoaches everywhere! Do not go here, when we complained about the mass amount of German cockroaches in the room I could tell front desk wasn’t surprised at all and had been used to this. Since this is a small business I tried to give them a chance before leaving a negative review, but they have yet to return my money after they said they would (it has been multiple weeks since my stay). I have attempted to contact the inn by email and it has been days with no reply, I doubt I’ll ever receive anything. I’ll be filing a dispute with my credit card company. Please whatever you do don’t stay here, it was 100% the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Waking up at 7am to mass amounts of cockroaches climbing all over you in the beds and all in your suitcases (even if you do put them on the table). Our room had looked like a robbery happened there, the door had obvious damage from being broken into, the bathroom door and walls had obviously been previously punched and terribly “repaired”. I called before my stay (same day) and was told my reception their pet fee is $10. It also states on their website pet fee is $10. They charged me $20 when I got there which seemed unfair, but I was in a rush so I paid it. I genuinely feel like this place robbed me while risking bringing an infestation home. We all had to sit outside at 7am and shake ourselves off, take all our clothes and belonging out and shake everything. It took an hour just to get all the roaches off of ourselves and our luggage. I deserve a refund, again this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I don’t leave reviews on places ever, but this...
