My family and I were just at This business to purchase a gun for myself. I am a black African American woman and U.S citizen. A white guy with a long beard helped us. We chose a gun and followed their policies. I had my fiance and my 15 month old daughter with me. We were told it would take 10-20 mins for the background check. We waited almost a hour patiently. We started walking around and spoke to another representative and I told him about the gun I am purchasing and he told us about the gun and we saw another gun that was cheaper and he shared with us that it is a better. I then asked the beard guy if I could get this gun instead. He said he would check and went into the back. He went into the back and came back and told us we cannot purchase the gun anymore because they suspect “Straw law”. His reason is that “ I told him I researched the gun and now I am changing my mind and it looks fishy” I then asked to speak to the manager. She is a short lady with beach blonde hair. She then states “you changed your mind and we think you are buying The gun for your fiance and you told the beard guy that you were here yesterday” . First we did not have that conversation with beard guy and I am sure they can verify me nor my fiance was at this business yesterday. She did not care and states she cannot sell us the gun. We said ok then asked for her higher ups number. She stated she could not provide it because he only has a cellphone. Huh. What kindve business does not provide there customers with even a customer service hotline? All we received is the persons name which is “Jared and he travels to many different store and we can't provide his cell phone number” according to her. I told her we do not require his cellphone number but a BUSINESS number to discuss the treatment we received. We were treated this way because we are African American. But what do we expect from a place that doesn't have diversity of any of the staff that help sell these guns. Yes WE ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN. We have the same rights and we ALSO WANT TO PROTECT OUR FAMILY LIKE ANYONE ELSE. They should be ashamed of themselves. I SAW PEOPLE WHO LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE ON DRUGS BUYING BIG RIFFLES. THERE WERE PEOPLE IN GROUPS. Why were they not accused of Straw law? These people were in and out in 10 mins while we sit and wait and then denied due to our skin color is DISGUSTING. There was no reason that I can see to feel “suspicious and fishy of me purchasing a gun with my family by my side. UTTERLY DISGUSTING. I will do all I can do to expose this company. I am not sure why they even have 4.5 stars. We are all one human race. BUT SOME PEOPLE HAVE HATE IN THEIR HEARTS AND WILL DO ANYTHING to be EVIL. God sees all. Trisha and beard guy god sees your bad business practice and tainted heart. I will pray for the...
Read moreI bought a ground blind from the Canton store on 9/17. It was the last one and didn’t have a box but I didn’t think much of it. Once I got it home and opened the carry case I noticed the product looked used. The poles were rusted on the ends and the blind was dirty. The instructions looked like they had gotten wet and dried and were unreadable. I brought the item back the next day and the woman in customer service was rude and looked at the item in disgust when I told her the product looked used and I wanted to return it. There happened to be a younger male employee talking to her when I walked up and he confirmed after she looked at it in disgust that he had actually put the blind out and it was in that condition. Even after hearing that she continued to question it and gave me dirty looks. After a minute she said I guess I’ll return it if you say so to the other employee. I told her she could check the camera from the day before and see there was no box. I was sold a piece of shit used blind and felt like I was being the asshole for returning it. No “I’m sorry or we’ll look into this”. She processed the return and said “here”. She was about 5’4” and dark hair. Very rude and I would think the customer service rep would be nicer ‘especially when another employee confirms that’s how the item was put out. I just spent about 800 dollars on a new crossbow, arrows and target a week before and am now thinking of returning just because of how this...
Read moreAs a frequent customer of Fin Feather I am on a first name basis with some of the staff, primarily the gun counter. I have seen them working with first time gun buyers to patiently and intelligently help them make their own personal choice given as many options as they need. I have never heard anyone of them tell a customer what they think their preference should be. The sales staff is very knowledgeable about the products the store carries and even if there is some off the wall question will find someone on the staff who is more expert to provide a best answer. There are some old timers on board who have had experience with some of the more historical firearms. Unlike another seller when asked a question regarding breaking down a Walther PPK for cleaning and the salesperson did not know, Fin Feather will find someone who will know. At the particular time I provided the much needed information because I have owned the PPKS and knew how to take it apart. Many times my visit is just to pass a little time and ask a question or two, perhaps to pre shop for a firearm. Each and every time I come away with question answered or a better idea about a future purchase. Fin Feather has 60 day layaways on virtually everything in the store, but often as not I will put a future purchase in lay away and its payed for when...
