TL;DR horrible service, avg hibachi, super slow sushi service
Our first trip to this location will most likely be our last. I was leary when I saw it was behind a Subway, in what looks like an old Sizzler or maybe Ponderosa? I was hoping this was same ownership as Fairlawn Sakura, but I don't think so based on the experience. We had to put our name in at 610 and were told 30 minute wait. When we finally got seated 645, waitress quickly took our order. She returned in minutes with our drinks, then appetizer and husband's salad and soup. She dropped the side sauce and it splashed all over my husband sleeve and on table. She giggled, said oops, and said she would bring napkins. They never arrived. We cleaned up ourselves with napkins I had in my purse. Had to shout for her attention to getA for so he could eat the salad she brought. His hibachi dinner came shortly after. Lobster was tough and crispy, but it was his first time trying and he had no complaints.. Still waiting on my two sushi rolls while hubby was halfway through his meal. Hubby reached his limit and said he needed a box, and my sushi finally arrived at 8. I was too over it at this point, asked for...
Read moreMy fiancé and I were driving to A1 Steakhouse when instead we saw Sakura sitting across the street from Belden Mall so we swing into the parking lot like a couple of bohemian wanderers, ready to eat the world. The atmosphere is calming, serene. We were greeted immediately and sat in a booth. Our Boba teas were brought out quickly and the onslaught of food followed one plate or bowl or bento after another. Hot soups and chilled salads with a sweet dressing, 'mozzatella' sticks with yum-yum sauce (which were really, really good), chicken katsu and a teriyaki steak bento box with everything you could wish for tucked perfectly into separated squares within an even bigger square. Presentation was nice. We ate with leisured indulgence, enjoyed each other's company, and left after paying a 75$ bill. A lil on the pricey side, but the portions are big enough for leftovers, and my guy can pack it in. So it is a lot of food. The wait staff are attentive and accommodating but not overbearing in any way. Really nice place. Will return again. Visit occurred on a Friday evening between 5 and 6pm.. not busy at all. was a...

My friend and I frequent the Sakura's in Fairlawn quite a lot and expected this one to be of the same high quality. Not even close . How they can share the same name is beyond us .
We started with a order of calamari. It was way over cooked, rubbery and had an aftertaste of dirty burnt oil. The sushi rolls we each ordered were just as bad, the rice was soggy The Tempura shrimp in the roll had the same burnt taste. The "Chef sauce" on the roll was to dominant and sweet and when combined with the flavor of the tempura shrimp it was very off putting.
We've eaten at most of the sushi places between Akron and Cleveland, This would definitely rank as the second worst place we've eaten at. (Yellow tail is currently #1 and should be avoided at all cost ) nothing about the meal was satisfying and we both left disappointed.
Maybe they were just having an off night .but unfortunately, It was so bad that we have no desire whatsoever to ever return to find out .
As for the service I have no complaints, everyone was friendly and our...
