Unfortunately, our recent visit to the Key West Golf Club was overshadowed by a disappointing customer service experience that started the moment we walked into the clubhouse. We were greeted (if you can even call it that) by a woman named Karen â short blonde hair and an attitude that made us feel more like an inconvenience than paying guests. There were maybe six people in the clubhouse, including my three family members, so it wasnât like they were overwhelmed or understaffed. Yet somehow, the level of service felt like we were just being rushed through a process. Karenâs tone was unmistakably passive-aggressive, with zero warmth or effort to make us feel welcome. It was almost as if she was annoyed we were there at all. Just because thereâs only one golf course in Key West does not give staff the right to treat guests like another transaction in the system. Just because Karen may be used to dealing with locals doesnât mean her passive-aggressive attitude is acceptable toward out-of-town guests. Key West thrives on tourism, and employees at popular venues like this should reflect that with professionalism and hospitality â not indifference. Thatâs exactly how we felt â like a number, not guests there to enjoy an experience. Karenâs attitude at the start of our tee time completely set the wrong tone. She was dismissive, rushed us out of the clubhouse, and left us all feeling unwelcome before we had even hit a single ball. It got to the point where the group I brought along didnât even feel like playing. Thatâs how off-putting the interaction was. The only bright spot was a woman named Donna, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel seen and appreciated. The only reason this review is receiving two stars instead of one is solely because of Donna, the one staff member who went out of her way to treat us with genuine kindness and attentiveness. Donna showed us the level of service we had hoped for from the beginning. She deserves to be recognized and appreciated. Donna deserves recognition and should be the standard for how guests are treated. Unfortunately, the actions (and attitude) of Karen undid all of that. Iâm writing this so future guests can make informed decisions. Golf is not a cheap experience, especially in a place like Key West, and no one should feel like their money is wasted on poor customer service. If Karen is working the clubhouse, I suggest caution â or better yet, waiting until someone like Donna is there to ensure youâre treated with the respect every paying...

Staff: -1/10 this is the worst staff ive ever encountered. They WILL be rude and they WILL treat you like garbage
Price: 2/10 Nearly 150 a person. Carts are junk ours wobbles left and right the entire time.
Overall: dont waste your time, money, or happiness at this place. Its terrible
If i could give negative stars I would!
If you love golf, want to enjoy a nice round with some buddies, appreciate a friendly conversation with a staff member. Go FAR FAR away from this overpriced course in KEY WEST.
Every person from my first encounter to my last were rude dismissive and acted as if my group of guys and I were nothing but an annoyance to them.
This course is nearly 150 dollars per player (not even in great condition) we visited for a bachelor party. We had 6 guys and even after messaging me letting me know they had a tee time available for us to play back to back(per my request and SIMPLE to manage) and enjoy MAIN purpose of our trip. I was told i was âout of luckâ and âsorry budâ on the phone by whatever rude staff member worked the desk the evening before our teetime.
The starter? Yeah, the fight starter you should call Him because his condescending attitude and rude demeanor rushing people around like hes got somewhere to be and talking to people like theyve never been on a golf course before is such a fun way to kick off your round.
Come to find out (locals that we were paired with instead of our group told us) the manager and his buddies played in between my group of 2 and group of 4
glad he was able to enjoy his round.
Stopped for ONE photo opp on the ONLY chance we had to be together as a party on the course and were yelled at by the manager and his buddies while he proceeded to play into us on the green. Didnt even finish the hole. What a fun memory!
Ill leave this review to save any and every group of guys that ever considers this place. I promise you, you WILL regret it.
Id never spend another dollar at this garbage establishment.
Im sure theyll comment w their silly defense like every other review. Focus on running a proper and professional business. Not an overpriced âturn your nose up at others â contruction dump. Thats a good enough reply for me and everyone else on here that said the same...

Grad HS from Key West (M.I.) and living at my parentsâ house for 6mths until they return, doing rotations with them since Iâm newly retired and is able to travel more. Iâve golfed all over the world and today was my worst game/day playing.. this was my 3rd time (since Novâ23) paying the ridiculous $150 for round a golf.. My golfing buddy (who lives here and had an extra set of clubs) tried getting me a visitor pass since he is a member the 2nd time I played and that was still $120..
What unsettled my PTSD was the guy behind the counter (Mike â I think I was told by the other golfers) is a rude M*.. I asked a question if they had Military discount since I couldnât get the âLocalâ price even though I live here, and my family owns a home here since Iâve graduated. He exclaims only to âactive militaryâ.. This D.A. and I also blame the Owners, donât realize the ones retiring now are the ones that have and earned the right to be retired?! He also stated where else can I play 4hrs of golf for less than $150?!?! Really dude?? I canceled going golfing this Saturday.. I'm done! I bought an airplane ticket $280 to fly back to Texas (Home) and will gladly give those other Golf courseS my money and Iâll get better customer service while paying less than $150 ea time!!!
And before I even went to this course I did read the reviews and now I am a believer of the low rating, and now I must post for all Retired CVets.. I will not be returning to this place ever again.. The worst case Iâll drive the 8 hours to Tampa, since they have over 40 Golf courses and they certainly give military discounts⌠yes even retired and donât have to be a local!! And its only $40 and some even gave me FREE tee times â I just had to rent the clubs ($20). Also most have what they called âMilitary Tee Timesâ just in case you...
